Tried the Note 4 a bit but ultimately returned it because it didn't offer much new compared to the Note 1. Only got the 6S+ because my Note 1 no longer reads SIM cards.

I never got to fuck around with a "muh pure google experience" Nexus phone until now. It's a friend's phone and he's constantly complaining about the battery life on it. What a load of shit. You can't disable the Google search app, or the Google now launcher. Even when you install Nova Launcher, it's still there in the background being all AIDS-y. Google search app refuses to be greenified, claiming it's running. I guess the real Google experience is having your battery raped 24/7 by Google's shitty, bloated botnet apps constantly running in the background. At least with Cyanogenmod, you can install what you want and then slap Play Services around with service disablers.

It's not a good year to get an HTC flagship. It seems the M9 has more issues than previous models and from what I've seen the M8 beats it in many benchmarks, even though it has lower specs.

Note5 is better than the edge+ because the edge screen is more of a gimmick than anything else, the only somewhat useful thing is the clock and widgets, but overall the shittier ergonomics and the distortion it adds during full screen videos makes it worse overall than the Note5, and more expensive.

Note5 is considered better by almost everyone who has used the edge and edge+.
The edge screen is really just a gimmick, no real function besides the clock/alarm and widgets, the Note5's spen features and lack of curved screen make it all around better, it's easier to hold in the hand as you aren't trying to avoid the edge screen, and full screen videos look fantastic, as opposed to on the edge+ where the edge display just distorts the colors.

Depends. There's legit emulators out there. If you downloaded it from the Google Play Store itself it's almost certainly safe.
In terms of performance, well that comes down more to what you phone can actually do rather than whatever emu you're using. Some phones will have no problem playing SSBM in Dolphin, while others may struggle to even maintain a stable fps in Doom 2 under Dosbox.

Honestly the Note5 is the only phone choice at the moment if you want any sort of decent stylus.
It has an active digitizer made by wacom, it's pretty damn good, that being said I mainly use it for notes, not sketches.
