This'll be my first build. Plans are to use it for gayming + I'll be taking it with me to Uni. I need this thing to last me a while. I'm overeaching a little already budget wise, since I wanted to stay around 1000-1100$.

Suggestions?
>>
Drop office and pirate it
And i would also pirate windows 10
>>
>>52004359
Is it difficult to pirate? I'm also worried about viruses to be honest.
>>
>>52004382
Depends, just find one with high seeds and scan it once you download

>$64 dollar cpu fan
>$99 monitor
Stock cpu fan works fine unless you are very concerned with noise. Would recommend getting a nicer monitor, makes the end experience much better. Would recommend an ips screen for beautiful colors and viewing angles, but some people don't like the slightly higher refresh rate.

Also, highly recommend a 256gb solid state drive for your os and common applications. Makes everything run more smoothly.
Full towers are massive, be aware of that.

But anon, I though ssd's were a meme
>>
I see no SSD. Get one, difference is amazing.
>>
>>52004560
Sounds like a troll was successful. They make a very noticeable difference.
>>
>paying for win 10 and office
yes, yes you are
>>
>>52004502
I'm concerned about sound yeah. I think I'll take the other anons advice and just rip windows.

>>52004593
I thought it was a meme.

>>52004614
What's the difference?

>non-mechanical gaming keyboard
Bretty shit.

AFAIK don't get an Z series mobo with a non "k" processor. Since that non "k" processors have locked multiplier, you won't be able to overclock, and thus the whole point of getting an Z series mobo is useless (they're made for overclocking). Either get an H series mobo or an "k" processor (for example i5-4690k).

You don't need a fancy cooler/paste with a non-K CPU.
Get a better/cheaper case. You don't need a full case, or ATX board.
Pirate software.
Standard DPI for monitors is 23" at 1080p.
>>
You can do way better. This is what I'd do:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KNywLk

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($242.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($62.89 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial BX200 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Hitachi Deskstar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($44.75 @ Amazon)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 390 8GB PCS+ Video Card ($293.98 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($66.50 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) ($89.88 @ OutletPC)
Monitor: NEC E224WI-BK 76Hz 21.5" Monitor ($179.99 @ Adorama)
Keyboard: Monoprice K9 Wired Standard Keyboard ($8.98 @ OutletPC)
Mouse: Logitech G502 Wired Optical Mouse ($64.95 @ Amazon)
Total: $1244.88

Aftermarket cooling is pointless on locked CPUs. Skip it and invest in a better CPU. This Xeon is an i7-4790 with no iGPU, so can't be beat for the price.

Z chipset motherboards are geared for overclocking. Skip them on locked CPUs.

Go dual channel since we have 4 memory slots.

HGST drives are more reliable than Seagate drives. SSDs are good for boot drives, so get one.

Full tower cases are unnecessary for this build.

The PCS+ R9 390 has the best cooler (tied with the Sapphire Nitro).

I gave you a high(ist) refresh rate IPS monitor. Perfect compromise for gaming and media consumption.

Keyboards don't matter. Mice do. G502 has a top-tier sensor.

Budget leftover for MS Office, but let's face it: you should pirate it if you need Outlook, and if you don't you should be using LibreOffice or OpenOffice.

Solid state drives don't have physically moving parts like hard disk drives. You'll hear your hdds warm up as they start to spin, before they can be read. Solid state drives don't have that delay, meaning much faster speeds, up to 4x faster. Slap your os on an ssd, and you find your boot takes 15 seconds instead a minute or longer. Everything on the ssd will run faster generally, games will have shorter load times, etc

there are your problems

also if you plan to oc the 390 id get a 750w psu, those things are monsters and require tons of power

A few things:

Ditch the 4590 and get the 4690k if you can

Swap the Noctua for the Corsair H50

Get a dual-channel kit with a higher base clock

You might want to get a 750W PSU if you want more headroom for future expansion/overclocking

Why the fuck would you ever pay for Windows, especially 10

Why the fuck would you ever pay for Office

I think that's it.

I wish you well, OP. I wasn't trying to be a dick in my post >>52004819

I think it's awesome that you asked for help and are willing to take other people's advice into consideration. I've got the 4690k which is why I recommended it in the first place; fantastic CPU for the money and it overclocks very, very well. Hope the build goes smoothly and if you're going off to Uni you might be able to get Office at a ridiculous discount anyways.

Any changes to this gayman build? Is the 390 Sapphire ($325) worth it? Or just get the PowerColor PCS+ for $295?MSI is $320
>>
>>52004382
If you're scared, then buy a key from Reddit. Way cheaper.

Pirate all software/use Linux
>>
>>52004382
not difficult to pirate and don't worry about viruses, if it's a popular torrent it will be fine
>>
>>52005629
don't buy seagate, get hitachi or toshiba instead
>>
What is with you faggot and computers for college. You'll never use that shit. Take that money and use it for something productive.
>>
>>52004382

Ignore all the fags telling you to torrent win7.

Just sign up on MDL forums, download an original ISO, use the Microshit official tool to create a boot DVD/USB, use one of MDLs loaders (DAZ still works fine) and enjoy your FREE $80 OS. Seriously who the fuck doesn't love FREE MONEY?

Also the build is shit, get an unlocked CPU or just use stock fan and THEN if you think it's too loud get whatever aftermarket bullshit you need.

Use your saved software monies to get an SSD, 250gb is good if you want to put some games on it, else a 120gb does the job.

You can play 1440p with a 390, either downgrade that GPU or get a better monitor.

Keyboard is so fucking gay I'm starting to lust over dicks
>>
>>52005629

Dam son looking gud, why is the 2x4 so expensive though? Find a cheaper one, they should go for ~35 ameridollaz. I mean it's not that much but why not.
>>
>>52004326
If you're not going to buy an unlocked processor, than don't get a z97 gaming motherboard lmao
