I got the budgie first and he died last, had him for almost 10 years, he was a birthday present in 8th grade
lived though both highschool and college
little guy was my best friend
got the guinea pig when I was a sophomore in highschool, he lived 5 years before he died
the rat was a similar story, got her a few months after the guinea pig died, lasted 2 years before suddenly keeling over which is normal apparently

FPS when recording the desktop varies depending on how much stuff is "going on". If the mouse is still and nothing is moving on the screen, then it will hover at around 2FPS. Fraps is configured to record at 30FPS max at the moment.

Windows desktop is variable FPS, but with VSYNC on.
If I recall, it goes down from 0 to as fast as your monitor's refresh rate.
You don't notice it changing FPS because it's not a game and everything is static.
