A come up is like something that hood people buy (usually stolen) for a lot cheaper than it should be.

For example, I bought my Thinkpad X250 off of some kid on craigslist, it was obviously from a large local company. He said his "Mom worked there" but he had no idea what the user/pass was to log on. Oh well, $200 later I had a new laptop. Now that is a come up.

not bad.
I got a HP dv4 last year for $5. I put a 32gb SSD in it and have never wanted more out of a laptop.
>posting from it right now.
also: 2.2 speakers - $8
2x 1280x1080 monitors for $7 each
both at goodwill.
>>
>>52000012
But it's not a thinkpad.
>>
>>52000063
no, but its a fully functional dual core laptop for $5. so long as the mobo hold together I dont care.
>>
I just bought 3 19" LCD's with free keyboards, all hookups for $30.

Not sure if they were stolen or not. Two of the monitors still had some of the plastic over the symbols, the other had scratches on the plastic though.

Pretty happy with it though.
>>
I bought it for 22$ I plan to add in my gigabyte motherboard keep the graphics card and vamp it with my old hardware. The current motherboard sucks yes but the chassis has a nice look to it. Plus I'm a photometric specialist so I plan to hard some led strip tape to it and make it perform like a gaming PC should.
>>
>>51999656
The interior is out dated as fuck but the chassis is usable. So whatever, it'll be like turning a script kiddy into a gray hat.
>>
>>51999412
Don't knock second-hand pre-builts, broh.

I just bought a flawless, complete, second hand (state surplus) Dell workstation with an i5-4590 for $100 as a christmas gift for a child.

This beats the holy ever-loving shit out of any similarly priced pauper build.
>>
In all honesty I bought it for the chassis, everything inside that can benefit me is all profit. Plus since the original hard drive is still in there, im sure ill find something interesting. If there's anything crazy on it ill post on this thread.
>>
Aren't dell cases flipped though? You're going to have to do some modding if you want to stick a non-dell motherboard on there.

730x is ATX, Anything lower than that is BTX or some odd layout.

Found a core i7 3770 that works in a computer that was being scrapped at work

>chassis usable
It's a BTX case, good luck changing the motherboard without using a saw.

I'm not sure if this counts, but anyway
>fractal define R2 case
>corsair 650W modular psu
>asus lga1156 mobo
>i7 860 (2.8 GHz)
>noctua cooler for above
>8 GB ram
>case, cooler, etc had all accessories present, even unused stock cooler in its box

All this for 60 eurobux. It was supposed to be broken but wasn't really.

(pic is after I changed some parts and made it into my server)

Picked potato related up today for $5 with a couple of NetBurst and P6 workgroup servers I was eyeing at the recylcer.

Dual Xeon X5450s, 8 GB of DDR2 (which I can upgrade to 10 or 12 with shit I've got on-hand), pretty nice guts too. No cards or drives though, probably going to order a pair of Quadro FX 3700s for it and fit a spare SAS SSD into it.

What exactly are you laughing at? Looks like a pretty nice Core2-era prosumer box if he got it cheap enough.
