Am I the only one that finds everything mechanical keyboard retarded and gay?
>not getting a hardon for all that premium tactile clicky-clacking
>extreme customization options
>leds
>keycaps
>cords
>10-keyless
>mx/topre/kailh/etc
>etc etc
not having a mechanical makes you gay.
>>51993538
do you show your custom keyboard to girls when they come over?
>>51993549
no i have a gf
>>51993488
not a fan of the rainbow fag shit, but otherwise looks like a nice keyboard.
My K120 is good enough for everyday use, if it breaks I'll just get a new one. Name me one thing a mech can do that my K120 can't for 1/10 of the price.
>>51993574
What's up stereotype bigot
>>51993488
>Am I the only one that finds everything related to mattresses retarded and gay?
This is what you sound like.
If you spend all day typing, why wouldn't you invest in a nice keyboard that's comfy to type on ?
I don't mind you making posts like this, but please don't tell me you would also make the same argument against buying a dedicated bed for sleeping on.
>>51993488
I've been using this, SK-8115, for almost 10 years and has served me well.
My work issued me a computer to work with at home and when it came time to turn it in, I turned in the machine but not keyboard. So I got a pretty good deal on it.
>>51993643
If I bought a customizable trendy colored mattress that looks like it fell out of a shitty anime I wouldn't make a thread looking at mine and everyone else's mattress every single day.
>>51993614
Mechanical keyboards are not meant to be a cheap option that you use just to get the work done. They're what you get if you want something that looks and feels a lot better than a regular rubber dome keyboard.
So while there are some things that a mechanical keyboard might do that your K120 doesn't (but only if you get a really expensive programmable one), you are completely right.
Also, K120 is a god tier non-mechanical keyboard, so great choice there.
>>51993488
>mechanical keyboard faggots spend hundreds of dollars and wait months for custom order keycaps to replicate the look of a thrift store keyboard
If you faggots want colored keycaps so bad, just pop off the keys and dye them yourself.
>>51993549
I dont show it to them. But they see it and it becomes a conversation piece and I get laid because of it.

>But they see it and it becomes a conversation piece and I get laid because of it.
this is what neckbeards actually believe

Always loved the look of these. Dat bezel.

mechanical keyboards are a lot better than membrane ones. You don't have to jerk off to different color switches and shit, but pretending they're not better is just sad.
Best keyboard I've ever used, including those annoying clacky IBM shits my school had when I started learning to computer.
>>51993959
I'm using the same one in my lab computer. It feels so mushy I'd rather use a chiclet keyboard.
>>51993488
Must suck being poor.
>>51993959
these are fucking horrible to use
so mushy and the feet are so easy to break students would break them just by pressing down on the corners
>>51993488
I based on recommendations here I bought meme mouse, meme phone, meme ssd and it was all good till meme mech keyboard.
Got IBM M, yeah, it's beautifully build but really over the top everything, then tried some cherry browns, also nothing special so I just went back to cheap late IBM membrane.
lol poorfags
merry christmas
It's just a fucking keyboard you idiots, if i can write with a plastic $3 keyboard and it works, it's the same shit as a $150 keyboard
>>51994216
It's just a fucking bed you idiots, if I can sleep on the floor with a $10 comforter on the floor and it works, it's the same shit as a $500 bed
>The best keyboard ever made isn't sold anymore
Just kill me now
>>51994225
Le Reddit tier analogies
I bought a mechanical memeboard and ended up going back to my superior Dell RT7D10. It just werks.
>>51994225
It's just a fucking analogy you idiots, if I poop out of my mouth, it's the same shit as making good arguments

It's kind of audiophile levels of meme but I guess some people really like the feel.
Definitely overrated though, just another circlejerking topic for hipsters at times.
>>51993488
>Started using buckling springs as first mechanical
>started spending hundreds on different mechs
>Used all of the main cherry switches
>tfw favorite keyboard at the moment is a cheapo Lelnovo keyboard I got for $5
There's something oddly enjoyable to use about this keyboard, but I still use a keyboard with MX Reds for gaymen.
>>51993736
I am a woman and I can promise you that never happens
They feel nicer to type on than membrane keyboards, and the one I have looks nice than my previous one. It has more LED functionality, won't crap out as fast and even sounds nicer.
I dont see what is to find retarded

A man can have a feminine voice too you know
>>51993488
the ones with disgusting colours like pic related and the people that actually have some sort of preference for the mechanical keyboards beyond which type of switch they have are fucking pathetic.
The people that want a mechanical keyboard and then care about the noise then go and buy a 'quiet' mechanical keyboard are also fucking autistic.
>>51993721
would these old keys actually fit onto mx switches?

img related is tho, teensy adapter for USB. maintained the original board, case and discoloration.
programmed macros for missing function keys in OS X.
alps salmon switches.
>>51995106
did you write your own embedded code to convert the signals to USB?
I've been wanting to do that to a PS/2 keyboard.
>>51995153
I started to but there was already a finished project https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard
>>51995153
how long can a USB cable be before it degrades the signal?
There's enough space inside my keyboard to coil up the original PS/2 cable and a USB converter, what if I just add an USB extension cable that leads out of the case so I don't have to look at the ugly converter all the time?
>>51995216
do you really need to go further than 10ft?
