I've tried a couple of variations of what worked, I assumed that I'd need to use the #watch7-sidebar .video-list-item:hover again, but adding a:visited, or just :visited to the .video-list-item class made no difference. I don't know what you mean specifically, since the a:hover styles both refer to hovering over the title, rather than the thumb.

Yeah, it really is a mess of redundant div's and classes. It's like thousands of people worked on this through tens of redesigns without bothering to clean up.
I don't doubt it's possible with js, it just seems so much like something that should be possible using stylesheet only.
I'm only just getting into css. I keep wanting to refer to the parent tag of some specified class/tag, does somebody know why this is impossible? Is there some better way to do this, or is there some reason this is undesired?

That was me. I was trying to change color of the related video's title when I hovered the video thumbnail. It's possible when the video isn't one that's visited, but if you try using the same method on visited videoes it doesn't work. What you're suggesting would change the color of the title in all cases.
