Does it count as a budget rig when some parts are recycled? It IS worth more after all.

GPU: GTX 960 Superclocked 4GB
CPU: i3 4130 (Already owned)
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H81M-HD3 Micro ATX
RAM: 12 GB DDR3 (Already owned)
STORAGE: 240GB Sandisk SSD and 3 HDDs (Already owned)
PSU: EVGA 600B Bronze
CASE: Rosewill FBM-02
>>
Get the GTX 950 or 960, they have hardware HEVC decoding and HDMI 2.0 so you can recycle them into an HTPC later on.

my case and PSU are different but roughly the same I just added older models

suggestions ?
is faster memory worth it?
don't worry about case/storage they're taken care of
>>
>>51990574
you don't need watercooling to get good performance on that FX-8320, any Cooler Master will do fine.
If you don't care about future upgrades, then that micro ATX is fine, and so is the 1866 memory, but if you care about upgrades, then go for a standard atx and 1600 memory.
that corsair psu is fine (as long as the total wattage of your system doesn't go above 410watts), but I've heard EVGA has more credibility on low-end psu. also, try to go for 4gb vram, especially if you want to play next gen titles, an r9 380 is your best choice.
>>
>>51988722
go for a more powerful psu so you're able to crossfire that apu with an r7 250
>>
>>51991851
>crossfire
>the only PCIe slot taken up by a cable capture card
Not happening, this isn't a gaming rig

I kind of want to get a SSD, but I really don't want to deal with reinstalling Windows or moving everything over.
>>
>>51992464
What's the point of putting 2,200$ into a computer then skimping on your CPU?
the 4790k is 50$ more expensive and you get to upgrade to an i7.
Also
>I kind of want to get a SSD, but I really don't want to deal with reinstalling Windows or moving everything over.
You're getting a new motherboard m8, you're reinstalling anyway.
>>
>>51992521
I'm just gaming so the i7 is a waste of money for me. I'm swapping from Pro4 to Extreme4 so I figured there wouldn't be much of a reinstall needed.

Running with a temporary CM 212 Evo as a cooler for now since the Cryorig R1 is due on Thursday. So far I'm very pleased considering I've amassed these parts over a decent amount of time. 4.5 GHz with the 212 Evo on a 4770k isn't bad.

There will always be new gens. I had a 965 Phenom II black/GTX670 that I upgraded about a month ago, and it was definitely time for it to happen. Part of me did want to wait until Skylake-E next year, but FO4, Witcher 3 were calling to me and I couldnt play them in anything less than potato-vision, and Rainbow 6 Siege/Assassins Creed Syndicunt came free with the hardware I was ordering. Also the sale running up to Black Friday were beastly. Just find some good sales and order around them. I got >>51993633 this machine for ~$2500, all money spent.

What Mobo do you want?

I bought this build yesterday

I’m just waiting until a decent ultra wide monitor comes out that is more than 75hz, then I will buy graphics cards accordingly
