How is foobar botnet? I know you didn't make the picture, but maybe somebody else can clarify.

You don't know why it's added?

IIRC made by Russians and source code not available anywhere

No.

Yes.

If it's not open sores, it's botnet.

But theoretically couldn't you just use Wireshark to test if there's any weird connections while using it?

not bad
>>
>>51986768
Of course you can. You always can block it in the firewall too.
>>
>>51986768
Always go by the philosophy of anything is possible.

For all you know foobar2k just makes itself invisible to programs like Wireshark by some method or another.

So do NSA backdoors in Loonix :^)
>>
>>51986869
Except the advantage is that at least the Linux kernel source code is widely available.

Word botnet is largely meaningless on /g/. Hell, definition that you provided is acutally not a botnet.

foobar2k botnet? What have I missed?
>>
>>51986938

>>
>>51986925
It's meaningless because newfags like you never understood the meme in the first place and used it until it became meaningless.
>Hell, definition that you provided is acutally not a botnet.
No fucking shit, botnet was a meme born out of the post-2010 crisis of literally everybody coming together to form a network of commonly used software and services that datamined the fuck out of you to build an advertising profile, further entrenched by the NSA controversy of recent years.

But you retards have gone full reddit and now the meme ain't funny anymore.
>>
>>51986925
No need for :^) since it's also entirely possible.

But I think we should concede it's more likely for backdoors to exist in Windows rather than Linux. Both for motivations of the NSA and Linux' being open-source.

Foobar is not free nor open source software it's proprietary. The foobar dev(s) released an SDK under a permissive license so others could extend foobar but the program itself is proprietary

Any good?

Is Ubuntu still botnet?
>>
>>51988347
Also, why is antivirus listed?
>>
>>51984029
POO IN THE LOO
>>
>>51987860

hahaha EULAs usually have a broad statement about storing and handling your data forever. that's enough from a legal POV for the botnet.
>>
>>51988357

Well, AVs require a constant internet connection in order to stay updated. This could potentially be used to gather other information about the user's computer and online behavior.

That being said, nobody really needs one, I've seen idiots getting their computers infected with all sorts of malicious software and shit, despite having an antivirus (commercial or otherwise)

Common sense is free, always up to date and easy to use, you don't even need to install it.

Microsoft has done much more than just offering services and software, they have developed new technologies and serve a role in education with their school and college programs.

Apple in the other hand is just a brand of products and services aimed at people who like to pretend they are responsible consumers concerned about quality (LMAO), they used to be great a long time ago. As company and what they stand for, Apple is so shallow it can be described solely by its logo, considering how most people who choose Apple do it for the logo.
>>
I use
Ubuntu
BlackBerry
Spotify
Netflix.
>a-am I part of b-botnet fellas.....
>>
>>51989257
My point was that Microsoft is getting a little bit of a bad rap here, having 4 separate products on the botnet board, whereas Apple gets off easy with just one square.
>>
What's wrong with ghostery?
>>
>>51989318

Probably, but who cares really? Gotta fill them squares with something, besides, unless you are some kind Microshill there's no need to get upset about it, right?
