Images are sometimes not shown due to bandwidth/network limitations. Refreshing the page usually helps.

How can i block youtube ads with firefox? adblocker plus doesnt work, theyve made a deal with youtube apparently. I've been using a different adblocker, but this has been discontinued for Firefox recently.
I tried switching to chrome, but apparently there's not way of swapping tabs via mousewheel, which is like losing my right hand to me. also, the addon page seems to have been created by a 16 year old, judging by its functionality. please send help

Wow. Who told you about /g/? Honest question.

Install uBlock Origin and go away please.

I just use an edited HOSTS file to block ads. I've never seen ads on YouTube, or embedded within YouTube videos themselves.

I really don't see any logic in using a browser extension to block ads. It hogs resources to re-render the page minus the ad banners, whereas your HOSTS file is capable of blocking ads natively on a OS level at no cost of resources.

Here's a tutorial for Windows: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts2.htm

On Linux, you'll need to open your file manager as root and replace the HOSTS file manually.

I update mine maybe once a year, and haven't seen any ads anywhere.

Daily reminder that /g/ is the default board for Clover users.

Yes.

But its not a clean adblock. Adblock Plus/uBlock origin work within a framework so its a cleaner presentation.

Why not use both browser extension and host file?
>>
>>51982125
why would you use adblock plus when it doesnt block youtube ads?

if this is a ruse it's at least well made
>>
>>51982173
is this seriously the first time you've heard of a hosts file? Protip, everything points to 0.0.0.0, so the worst thing you could experience is a legit site 500-ing.
>>
>>51982222
yes, and i dont even understand your protip

Another protip is to not reveal your powerlevel, or lack thereof. Go ask >>>/wsr/ if you need anything else.

Is this a joke right now or are you the same person posting about /wsr/ in every thread?

For me Adblock Plus has rendered sites using google 'services' such such as this with recaptcha broken.

Gmail will not load and google images will only show blanks.

>>51981998
No. I tried blocking shit with my host file once and it crippled my internet browser until I reverted it.

I don't think it's meant to handle tens of thousands of redirects. The one on windows at least.
>>
>>51983665
What do you mean by crippled internet browser?

hosts file blocking has nearly no cost. I use it on ancient pentium and celeron computers that can't handle adblocking in the browser and it performs just fine.
