I cannot fucking accept this. Ever since i brought AMD/AMD its given me nothing but shit, from blue screens to underperformance to fucking crimson disabling my active mini-displayports, AMD is hot garbage and not worth the problems it gives.

Set up an a4 7300 for my mom, it works great for her uses.
I'm using an i5 2400 myself, but my gpu is a hd 7950 and it works great. I've heard it works best with an Intel cpu and AMD gpu, or nvidia gpu and amd cpu.

cherry picking the one engine that properly uses threads, of course its going to be better, amd stands toe to toe with intel when things are properly threaded till the high end quad i7's (not taking oc into consideration here) and can no longer compete with 6 core chips
however with things dont use threads well, they favor intel,
when things dont favor multithreading, they favor intel.
AMD's CPUs are fine. The problem I have with the intense AMD shilling here are retards trying to shill rebrands that were increased in price when they had a new sticker slapped on them.
Meanwhile a $250 nvidia GPU performs on the level of a $430 rebrand while using half the power. AMD is a joke.

I always wondered, with ARM having significantly better power consumption and not being as bloated as amd64 with an x86 fallback layer, why none of the Desktop OSes switched to it.
Is it just because of laziness/historic compatibility?

windows rt and ios are a thing
all the major linux distros have arm distributions (and android is also running a linux kernel as well)

This. Pretty sure Apple was threatening Intel at some point that they would ditch them for ARM if Intel didn't lower the power consumption. But next to Chromebooks ARM isn't really used in any other laptop/desktop combo right now as far as I'm aware.
Power consumption is why it's getting/already is pretty popular with servers.
