I'm installing it right now in a KVM virtual machine on my server to test it out. The stupid fucking thing has been sitting at a bootsplash screen for nearly 45 minutes while pegging one of my VM host's CPU cores. I might need to install OpenBSD or Illumos in another VM via virsh's emulated serial console just to wash the stench off.

This anon here again. I've got Win10 Enterprise (read: No Spyware Edition) installed under kvm+libvirt, with the IP list from laughingdrake.com/blog blocked using the VM host's iptables.
Having thoroughly tamed the beast and enabled RDP, it's not so bad. If Microsoft allowed home users the same ability to truly shut off all the tracking shenanigans on their own (or, you know, made them OPT IN) this would hands down be the best release of Windows since 7. Even IE and Edge don't suck as hard as they used to.
Of course it's all relative, and "best Windows since 7" is a bit like "least sweaty diaper after a sumo competition." I will continue to prefer Free Software unix-likes for my desktops, laptops, servers, routers, and firewalls.
