what is the easiest way to interpolate video files to 60FPS?

Shoot them at 60fps to begin with. Most video eqipment made since the 1940s does 60 or 50hz of full motion.

If it's old footage (that's interlaced) you might be able to recover the full 60fps if you get the original interlaced files.

for the most part, cosplay girls are always really awkward or homely or grotesque without all the costume shit

the fetish-wear masks their flaws but any close ups usually ruin the illusion

That's not interpolated, you can easily tell since it's not horribly blurry. Don't interpolate video before distribution, it's much better to ship a low fps video and have the end user interpolate it if they want than to permanently interpolate it in a way that may not be ideal in the future. Shipping unmodified source files is always ideal especially with something like this were improvements are being made all the time.

That's not how it works. It does a much better job at reducing banding (which is typically VERY obvious in anime) and other details at the same bitrate though.

10bit helps with banding and/or saves bandwidth.

>>51977802
>That's not how it works.
but it does. h.264 does not not have enhanced internal precision compared to output bit depth. 10bit processing and then just shaving off the extra bits via quantization gives you higher internal precision, thus less noise caused by rounding errors and thus higher encoding efficiency even for 8bit content.

This is correct for a very specific use case: if the director wants to achieve the "filmic look", they should shoot at 24fps and optimally on actual film. For computer animation, home movies, "reality" television, anime (it's true), and pornography, the higher the framerate the better.

Don't claim a spoof as a correct fact. The "cinematic" effect was a tech limitation that nowadays is still accepted due to two things as simple as 90% of displays still displaying from 50hz to 60hz maximum and the brain being used to watching it since we very young.

https://youtu.be/mjYjFEp9Yx0

Once the current unfortunate "standard" is left back and the new generation has high frame rates everywhere, the "cinematic" effect will be looked at as an idiocy of their ancestors.
>>
>>51983972
The hell are you talking about? 60hz displays can display 60fps. Did you just watch the video you posted and not understand anything in it?
>>
>>51973583
>>51974708
sause name identification doxx pls
>>
>>51984117
You're missing the point.
Watch a 60fps footage on a 144hz display and tell me there is no difference.
It's about the same difference as a 24fps footage on a 60hz display, almost everyone will say it's fine if it's a movie but not if it's anything else. What magic lies there asides of the brain being used to it? And don't give me the uncanny valley as that was what the first people watching movies also claimed.

Let alone the soap operas, comparing unprocessed footage of soap operas under pain spotlights to films that are processed to hell and back with colour filters and brightness (no, i'm not talking about special fx) is just retarded.
>>
>>51984340
No idea what you're trying to get across. 60fps on a 144hz display is still going to be 60fps. The only difference will be a higher motion resolution on the 144hz display in most cases but this is just a fault of LCD displays being sample and hold. It will actually look smoother on a Plasma or a CRT unless you enable ULMB mode.

>almost everyone will say it's fine if it's a movie but not if it's anything else.

Because other things don't have motion blur from a 180 degree shutter. It's not comparable.

And 24fps on a 60hz monitor is still 24fps, so? Does is still look good? I'm too lazy to find that webm of a film with the camera panning and rotating in the forest, that shit doesn't fly even on a 50hz interpolated.
>>
>>51973583
furry in the back ground
>>
>>51984514
That shot is from Noah and it looks bad because of the cinematographer being incompetent or lazy about it. Slower pan, adjusting the shutter angle, etc. Also that webm doesn't help because it has a bunch of compression.

You can make 24fps look smooth like higher framerate. Remember that movie Public Enemies? It got the same sort of criticisms from people like it was shot in a higher framerate but it wasn't. All Mann did was use a 360 degree shutter angle so all the light in every frame was captured.

>>
>>51984675
Being lazyness or incompetence, it's still dancing around the same limitation, there shouldn't be an excuse even if you are correct because the technology is here for a very long time now. everything advances obviously for better except this because reasons.
>>
>>51984941
Thing is people act like it's so clear cut when it isn't. Some scenes may benefit from a higher framerate but there are many scenes where the look just doesn't fit the scene and can detract from it. Saying it's inherently better shows a lack of knowledge about film. Take for example the famous opening scene in Saving Private Ryan, it's known for the staccato effect Spielberg used to give you a sense of the chaos in the scene.

Framerate needs to be used as a tool, just like Trumbull attempted, not as something considered superior overall.

>>
>waaahh high frame rate looks bad because I'm not used to it
Can we kill these luddites so technology can finally progress?
>>
>>51985113
That is a good example although it doesn't exclude high frame rate, it could still have the high frame rate alongside the effect.
I feel like pic related as if people do not notice the blur, stutter and small actions being done in micro teleports on the so called "cinematic" experience.

And props actually looked like rubber props.

HFR will make cinema different.

Excessive camera movement (as popular as it is in normal movies) in 60fps makes you puke.
So the camera will be static but the actors and stuff will be moving in front of it.
