Restarted the computer to reseat the CPU as temperatures during stress test reaches 95c, Windows decides to begin to process updates, shut down computer in bios, change watercooler fan and then start computer, got this everytime i decided to boot my computer. Fuck Windows 10.
>>
So you shut down the computer from Bios while WIndows 10 was updating?
>>
>>51965509
>>>/wsr/
>>
>>51965535
No, I had restarted the computer to get into the bios, when I was done changing the fan settings I turned the computer off while it was in the bios after I saved the settings.
>>
Sounds like user error
>>
>>51965550

So the first time you restarted your computer it was during updating?
>>
>>51965543
My fucking Windows 7 boot loader got fucked with, now I have to repair the shit and was using Windows 10 because for some reason it still works and Windows 7 doesn't. Think Microsoft did some shit.
>>
>>51965574
No, I restarted my computer, Windows decided that since I was restarting it was going to updated, so I waited and it restarted by itself and I logged into the bios to change settings and monitor the temperatures while doing so, once I changed the water cooler fan I turned the computer off to clean the CPU and reapply the thermal paste, I then booted the computer up again to this bullshit.

You try safe mode?
>>
>>51965625
Windows 7 is flawless, I did try to use Ubuntu a while ago but the compatibility it had with my hardware was shitty and it would freeze and crash randomly and it supported no programs I used and it didn't offer any performance improvements or easy of use so I don't really see the point.
>>
>>51965656
I mean it works for a matter of time, but doing anything like watching a YouTube video or opening taskmgr will cause it to freeze up and then crash.
>>
>>51965710
What if you continue the updates? did it finish? or check for more updates?

So it has nothing to do with operating system and it's probably "just" hardware problem.

Windows 10 childish bruh
Why does the interface have to be all big with ugly clunky looking menus and buttons with an interface that suits a kids tablet.
>>
>>51965762
Worked flawlessly before it decided to update by itself. Windows 10 is shit, never had a BSOD with Windows 7 before unless I terminated the crss.exe process

It just probably BSODed to protect hardware from your incompetency.

It idles at 30 degrees, during games it only reaches 60 degrees but I never really used all cores before.

Windows 10 is fucking beta trash. Format and install Gentoo or 7 if you want the last "good" Windows.

Meaning you got this error because you fucked shit up, retard. Every system works fine, unless something is CHANGED.

Yes, i did in fact change the thermal paste, and yes i am indeed black.
>>
>>51966214
Give me some credit, anytime you take the cooler off it's recommended to change the thermal paste, and i explained that i did in one of my earlier posts.
>>
>>51966250
did you clean off the old paste?
like really well to the point that you wouldn't know that there was paste on either the cpu or the heatsink before?
>>
>>51966172
I didn't say it was shit because of that, i'm saying it's shit because of the random crashes i'm subject to at this moment.
>>
>>51966267
I sure did off both the cooler and cpu itself, looked brand new.
>>
>>51966312
tighten the heatsink down a touch harder
make sure you didn't destroy the cpu with static electricity
>>
>>51966312

When is the last time it crashes? Is the cpu still jumping?
>>
>>51966172
And because of the ugly double interface it has that's build for tablets, i have a 32 inch monitor, it wouldn't hurt to have an eye candy of an OS, i like the improved boot and features that comes with it though.

30-50c are really good temps

Well, that could be a possibility, but seeing as how they only began to occur after it 'updated' i just decided to blame that, is there a flaw in my logic or would anyone else assume the same?

It has probably nothing to do with the cooler itself. I hope you didn't mess with it on a carpet.

>>
>>51966418
Yeah but during a stress test with CPU z temperatures hit 95c so i got scared.
And now this shit.
>>
>>51966433
It's more likely that these crashes began to occur when you messed with CPU, not when it updated itself. If it were updates messing up, it would have reverted back to the previous state.
>>
>>51966454
No i used some of that static resistant material that GPU's come in and placed it on my counter and held it in the air as to not damage the transistors on the other side.

I'm surprised they don't say "use Bing to find out"

Ok, gimme a brief refresh here.

So, you re-seated the cpu and reapplied the thermal paste. Is your computer still bringing up a bsod? Or are you just worried about fluctuating temps?
>>
>>51966528
I like bing, you can get free gift cards just by searching using it, besides the search itself is subjectively better than googles.
>>
>>51966577
It's on a black screen still, IE is black, background is black, other than that computer is responsive, i can only use task manager, about to restart it in a bit to see if that works.

If you would like to refer to me as a plebian then by all means whatever floats your boat. That does not make Windows 10 any less of fecal matter out of the anuses of the Windows 10 development team.
>>
>>51966871
You say that, but I'm on Windows 10 and never had any problems with that. So it must be on you.
>>
>>51965509
>We'll restart for you

Why does Microsoft insist on treating the customer like a brainless child that can't do anything by himself?
>>
>>51966871
Modern Windows OS are so retard-proof that if you managed to fuck it up, you must be lowest of the low.
>>
>>51966777
Seems to be stable now, but just goes to show I need to fix my bootloader for Windows 7.
>>
>>51966961
Yes, and the retarded interface is part of the reason I think it is shit.
>>51966923
I'm glad you find it to your liking, I just have it because I was part of that technical preview, I was initially excited when I heard they'd be bringing the start menu back, but the clunky half tablet interface is unappealing and I was hoping more for a Vista/7 theme look.
>>
>>51966941

Because of the millions of retards out there still running unpatched XP because they didn't want to be inconvenienced by updates.

I find updates annoying, but as a long-time Windows software engineer, holy shit do I ever want everyone else in the world to be mandated to run the latest at all times.
>>
>>51966941
Proof you don't understand business.

Think of it like your grandmother trying to do stuff on a computer. An OS is designed for retards to be easy, not for people on /g/
>>
>>51966941

Thy don't have much to lose since people don't want to leave xp and 7 and half the ones that do pirate, they're dead man walking. Might as well go full retard and try whatever they want until they get lucky enough to hit another os that catches on like xp did.
>>
>>51967012

It's one thing to make an OS that's simple and easy to use by anyone, it's another thing to say "don't worry, we're doing everything for you, retard"

You clearly haven't used Win10.

Windows has been the same since XP SP2 for god's sake

>>51967134
Think of your mom messing something up. Although easy to fix, would you honestly trust your mom to fix it? Fuck no. Thus "we're fixing it for you retard" was created
