ITT: Your setup in 2005
>sempron, 1.8 GHz
>nvidia geforce 6100
it was decent
>>51957983
A Pentium III 1GHz with a nVidia TNT Riva 2... I used that as my main machine until 2009 when I got a proper job
>>51957983
>pentium 4 with ht
>1.5gb ram
>geforce fx5200
played doom3, hl2, halo ce like a motherfucker.
>>51957983
Ahtlon 2500+ (Barton core)
256MB DDR RAM (later upgraded to 512)
Ati (YEAH, ATI BITCHES) Radeon 9200pro
Asus A7N8X mobo, nForce2 boiii!
>>51957983
>Pentium II PE 400
>192 MB RAM
>10 GB hard drive
Was slower than fuck with XP, I constantly was maxing out the disk, wouldn't play any of my shitty games I wanted to play. I whined about it constantly, eventually replaced it with a Pentium 4-M Compaq that literally caught on fire while I was asleep and almost burned my house down.
I still have it though, transferred into a cleaner case and installed NT 4.0 on it. It runs way faster, way better now that I actually know how to use it properly.
Antec case (same in pic)
AMD 64 FX-74
ASUS A8N-SLI
Dual GF 6600gt's
2x2GB of some random ass ram
paired up to a 1600x1200.
This imo was the perfect point in technology for me.
Now I can drop 4k on a pc and still not be happy.
AMD Athlon XP 1800+
1024 MB SDRAM
40gb HDD
ATi Radeon 7000 32mb AGP (up in this bitch)
Win XP Pro VLK copy
CD rewriter
It was decent. Could play a few games but mostly fucked with my networking stuff and that. Had a shit ton of CDs holy fuck.

>2.93ghz Celeron 340p
>512mb of Ram
>100gb Hard Drive
>integrated Graphics
It was able to run Roblox and Runescape just fine.
Pentium 4 2.8 ghz
512mb ddr ram
ATI Radeon 9800pro 128mb
Abit AI7 mobo
I was able to play Doom 3 and Half life 2 at pretty high quality back when they came out.
>Pentium 4 HT 2.8 GHz, barely OC'd to 3 GHz because lol stock cooler
>80GB WD Black IDE hard drive, later updated to SATA version (which I still have hooked up on my current rig, actually)
>Single Geil 512MB DDR PC-3200 stick, later upgraded to four Corsair XMS sticks totaling 1.5GB
>ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, OC'd
>Gaymer case with window and blue LED fans errywhere for FREEZING temps (forget brand, was very popular on Newegg at the time)
>Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card
>Logitech 2.1 speakers that I barely replaced just last year
>Logitech Elite keyboard from a previous rig (just replaced it about two years ago)
>Some Logitech mouse I had from a previous rig, replaced it with the MX518
>Some 4:3 CRT monitor, until eventually somehow stumbled upon a fabled Sony W900 I used until 2012
This was my setup from 2004 to 2008. Played the SHIT out of UT2004 on it.
>>51958264
Bah, forgot to mention:
>Asus P4P800 motherboard
Celeron 500mhz
256mb ram
4gb hdd
14" ctr monitor.
I was able to play cs1.5 and emulate some shits with vba (mostly pkm).
I remember the monitor started showing its ages and got hot as fuck. Had to make a ghetto fan setup for it. The old guy went up in smoke one day though.
>6600GT
>AMD Athlon 64 3000+
>1GB of RAM
>Shitty dell CRT monitor, no idea what resolution.
First build too. Ran Half Life 2 and Doom 3 like a dream. Had it up until 2008ish when I upgraded to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ and a 8800GT.
>>51957983
Pentium D 2.8GHz
GeForce 7800
2GB ram
500GB hard drive (wow)
2 DVD drives, one writeable
machine was the fucking shit, it was purchased to play HL2. Lasted me a long long time.
>>51957983
oh you mean the one im using as we speak?
>>51958054
Seems like a lot of people love the pentium 3. I personally love watching videos of people running dual pentium 3 configs and making them do things they were never meant to do
Pentium 4 w/ HT (can't remember clock speed)
1.5 GB Ram
GEForce FX 5600
...I used it to play Counter-Strike...
2.4 ghz "B" pentium 4 533mhz FSB
Ti4200 128 MB
80GB and 160GB 7200 rpm WD drives
48x CDRW
512MB DDR333
17 inch "flat" CRT monitor @ 1280x1024 75HZ

i never thought someone would use the same resolution as me in 2015
>>51958167
Holy crap, almost my setup.
>Antec case (same in pic)
>AMD 64 FX-74
I had the FX-55.
>ASUS A8N-SLI
>Dual GF 6600gt's
Only one 6600gt as well
>2x2GB of some random ass ram
>paired up to a 1600x1200.
>This imo was the perfect point in technology for me.
>Now I can drop 4k on a pc and still not be happy.
>>51958167
Athlon XP 2000+
GeForce FX 5200
80GB HDD
512 RAM
I could play Diablo 2, CS1.6, Warcraft 3, Mu Online, Red Alert 2, HOMM3, Starcraft:Brood War, Emulators. Those were the days boys..
>>51958475
max rez of the monitor from 2004 everything original other than the video card i got from goodwill when the other one died
>>51957983
>Intel Celeron 2.4GHz
>thinking it was hot shit cause clock so high
>didn't learn till later that the 128K cache completely crippled the chip
But,
>Celeron @ base 2.4
>Radeon 9200 PCI (cause I couldn't afford an AGP board)
>4GB of RAM
>40GB HDD
>1280x1024 monitor
>Athlon 64 3200+
>6600gt
>MSI motherboard with a whiny chipset fan
>17" Gateway CRT
>Blue Chieftec Dragon case
>More or less obnoxious blue LEDs because I got tired of my room glowing all the time
Looked more or less like this (not my pic but pretty much could be)
>>51957983
My setup on 2015
>2.0 GHZ AMD x64 3800+
>2gb DDR2 ram
>Crashing on chrome
Cuck me up desu f a m i l y
Found an old pc with an amd sempron in it the other day. Should I just scrap it?
>>51958670
AMD budget chips were usually breddy good, they just halved the cache but left all the other features intact.
>>51957983
>>51958567
Love me some tacky late 90s, early 2000s rice.
Rice now is all the same black case with white fans with all blue LEDs.
>>51958664
You better be using linux faggot
>>51958670
No. Revive it with puppy linux or something.
>>51958693
same, the shit was so gaudy it was iconic, and cases actually looked different, rather than a minimalist fridge that some gamer kiddo ripped the door off of and put in some blue LED fans

>Pentium 3 600MHz coppermine housefire edition
>ati rage
>64 MB dimm memory
>18GB pata HD
>still running puppy linux
Feels good /guys
>>51958697
XP with a registry patch to receive critical updates would open them up to way more applications and even run better though
linux just turns them into boat anchors that do the same exact shit you can do on a new system but 10 times slower
>>51957983
AMD Duron 1.6ghz
1gb RAM
Geforce 5800
It served me well
Pentium 4 3Ghz that I got for free because a ton of pins were bent.
Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 64mb
2x2gb DDR2
2x 80 GB drives in RAID 0
DVD reader & CD burner.
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
Cheap gigabyte mobo
Cheap power supply that came with the case
Random 19" CRT
There was an upgrade to a Ati x1650 and a better power supply somewhere between there and 2008.
>>51958477

Mate, not everything needs to be forwarded to Reddit.
Gateway Pentium 4 with HT.
3gb DDR
Dual DVD drives
Motherboard chipset provided GPU.
19" CRT I forget the res
Played original RS well enough but fell on its face in WoW.
Upgraded to a "gaming" laptop about 3 years later
>>51959232
mfw my name is riley
My first PC was bought in 2004 in some shitty Russian store. Obviously, it was bad:
2GHz Celeron
Sapphire Radeon 9200 128mb (I think it was ATLANTIS or some shit like that)
256mb RAM (soon after increased it to 512, just so Far Cry and Battlefield Vietnam wouldn't lag too hard)
80GB Seagate HDD
Gigabyte mobo with 865P Intel chipset
Shitty case and 300W PSU
LOUD AS FUCK Toshiba CD/DVD burner that couldn't write DVD+R, only 8x DVD-R max, and read DVDs randomly. No problems with CDs.
LG 17" Flatron monitor
That thing somehow managed to play HL2 (with huge load times, but still, managed to enjoy it) and Far Cry on medium settings, was relatively smooth. In 2007 it started throttling a lot, even sound was lagging, short after CPU fan died, good thing there was still used S478 fans around. And in 2008 when I finally had enough money, I bought a new PC. Sold the old one for almost nothing. Now I regret it. I could fucking rebuild it and use as retro machine, I'm sure Win98 would fit there nicely.. Ah well.
HP Pavilion 510c
>Intel Celeron @ 1.3GHz
>512 MB SDRAM (upgraded from 256)
>ATI Radeon 9250 PCI (upgraded from onboard)
>40GB HDD
>Windows XP
>CRT Monitor @ 1280x1024
>PC was 4 years old in 2005
Good times tbqh
P3 and winME
I had a few rigs at the time but I used one of them as my main box until about 2010. Specs were as follows:
Dell dimension 5150
3 ghz pentium 3 HT
4gb kingston ddr2 ram
Geforce 6600
160gb sata drive + 250gb addon
Shitty dell BTX motherboard and case
>tfw first computer you bought was in 2007/2008
>rfw you're only replacing it now
Pentium dual core E2140
1gb of ram
No GPU, then bought a geforce 8800 because I was still underageb& at the time, fan died and I fried it.
320gb hard drive
Compaq shit for the case and mobo
The only stock part of it that died is the PSU, I'll miss the toaster but at this point my phone is stronger than it.
prescott pentium 4 w/ HT
512 MB RAM
radeon x300
i upgraded the graphics card after the x300 but i don't remember what it was to
>>51958398
I've seen some absolutely mind boggling overclocks of them as well, even on air. I'm not sure what to put it down to but the p3 in that beige box was an amazing bit of silicone
>>51959232
>XP
>Opera
>Can't let go
>>51958054
>Pentium III 1GHz
Baller. Mine was at 533MHz.
>parents' old home-office machine
>Gateway prebuilt with Win 2000, then XP later
>9GB hard drive
>128 MB of DDR ram
>nVidia Riva TNT 2 (or something) in the AGP slot
>Upgraded the DDR to 512MB sometime in 2007, as well as installing dual-boot Ubuntu
If you'd opened this computer up, you'd see that there's a plastic shroud that links the airflow of the CPU with the intake of the TOP-MOUNTED PSU. No other fans.
It was quiet, built up dust quickly, and prone to overheating after about 12 hours of use.
>>51959904
Nostalgia pic now included
It was some VPR Matrix prebuilt from Best Buy. I don't remember all of the specs, but I know it had a 2.2Ghz Pentium 4, 1GB of RAM, and some BFG graphics card with 128MB of RAM. It ran Homeworld 2 pretty smoothly, that shit was my jam.
>>51958123
Shit, I had almost the same thing.
Athlon XP 2500+
512 MB DDR
Some Ati AGP card from the generation after that one.
Shitty noname mobo.
40GB ATA hard drive.
Eventually the mobo broke so I just replaced it with a Pentium 4 Dell my dad's work was surplussing.
AMD 3000+
512 MB
Radeon 9800 Pro
128 GB HDD
200 GB HDD
19" CRT Flatscreen
Pirate Windows XP
It was the very first computer I had ever bought with my own money, and built, with help of a friend.
AMD Athlon XP 1800+
768mb DDR ram
Integrated GeForce2 MX
>tfw played WoW on minimum settings
>initially had to logon using my brother's superior computer with a video card to finish quests and use the auction house in Orgrimmar because my computer was so shit in capital cities before it somehow magically fixed (I assume better optimisation fixes or whatever)
Upgraded to an AMD Athlon 64 with a 6600GT a year later. Shit was cash compared to that old pos.
Farthest I can recall is 2006 or so, when my parents had an eMachines T3516, one of those towers /g/ likes to laugh at for claiming it was "never obsolete".
Celeron D 352
AMD Radeon XPRESS 200
512MB of RAM
120GB HDD
Windows XP
