I was thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy S5 on Metro PCS, went on Amazon tonight to shop and read the reviews saying "this model doesn't support 4G LTE", ect.

Just switched from a Galaxy S6 to a Moto E LTE I got for $10 on Black Friday. Had to wait for a SIM adapter to come in the mail. Pretty happy overall, phone is crazy capable for $10. Battery life is much better than the S6, too.

went from an iphone 5 to a nexus 5x and this phone is fucking superb. it's so snappy and just the right size. it's thing as fuck but well made. battery isn't very good but I always carry a 10000 mAh powerbank so it doesn't need an xperia z5 compact tier battery. android 6.0 is again superb and this doesn't have any bloat. what's more important is it has google's full support and is designed to work great. I have a moto 360 too and it really works great with this phone

The GPU is significantly better in the SD810. But because the CPU cores are throttled so the CPU preformance isn't as good as it could be. But SD808 suffers from the same throttling issues, though it's less aggressive.

Have a look at the Sony Xperia Z. About the same price second hand, FullHD display as well, 13mp camera, snapdragon 800 processor, waterproof with IP 57 and takes sd cards up to 32gb officially, although it also takes correctly formatted 64gb ones. Design is still top, and it looks a lot more premium than the Samsung S4 imo. Had it for 2.5 years and can't really complain, maybe the flaps over the headphone jack and usb connector are a bit annoying. Can be charged in the docking station that is sold with the phone though, so you don't really have to open the usb flap a whole lot.

Got an Asus Zenfone 2 4GB/2.3GHz model on Friday. It is fucking awesome. People make too much of a big deal about the bloatware. For Pete's sake it's a 64GB phone with an SD slot. All you really have to do is ignore it, some of it could come in handy though. Only issue I've has is network connection. Depending on your provider you might have to play around with your ports to find which one works on your network. It's a quick fix.

My S4 is still serving me faithfully, however I'm eligible for an upgrade with my carrier.
Should I get an S5 or an S6? The S6 does have a better processor and more RAM, but I've never really stressed out even my S4's hardware. And I don't like the prospect of being unable to use SD cards or remove the battery.

Nah they make your screen look worse than if it was scratched. My samsung s3 has had daily use for 4 years now and the screen is completely fine.
+1 for s3 btw, had to replace the battery and speaker (20$ total), but it still runs perfectly fine. Dropped it a million times now and not a single dent thx to cheap case.
I have a Z3C that developed a crack in the top portion of the screen, and now the top 1/3 of the screen is unusable.

The "stupid stuff on top" is actually generally shit I use and want on my phone.
Muti window mode on the Note5 for example, all the Spen features associated with the note line as well, Samsung pay I use literally every day, the touchwizz themestore is great for letting me change my entire OS look just at the touch of a button. It has material design themes, dark material themes, or some weird far out ones with pink unicorns if you want.
Sure, it's heavier than stock andorid, but it also does a fuck load more than stock android, and sure I can set up stock android to do all these things with third party apps and shit, but this way it's all built in AND fairly optimized for my device.
Touchwizz has gotten even closer to stock in the last 6-10 months as well, so it's not even that bloated anymore and will only get better with android M.
I cant speak for current LG, but it was similar on my LG G2, though less features than touchwizz baked in.

The RN2 has been available in yuropoor basically since release, I got it about two months ago. Ofc it has otg, just like any other $100+ android smartphone released post 2014, it will receive Marshmallow at some point in time and MIUI sucks, but gets weekly updates. There's AOSP / CM roms available as well.
As for Huawei, I had a G300 and then a G510, the nand died on both of them. Think I'm done with their shit. Entry level doesn't mean they have to die in a fucking year.
Gotta say though, the G510 ran flawlessly on CM12.1 given that it has only 512mb of ram.
