Same shit, preferences. I use poweramp. Honestly download trial versions and check whichever you like the most. Shuttle+ is nice and material and plebbitors like it so it must be the best. It's cheapest also.

Apex free is the same thing as paid Nova and Nova free doesn't let you define gestures iirc.

If you root, use adaway. There are some nice file managers, but you should listen to someone else in the thread for one if those. Also, newpipe from f-droid.org is the best for youtube.
