Is there anything remotely similar to the MX518 on the market atm?

I am looking for a decent gaming mouse with good refresh rate but everything I've found so far is either stupidly expensive and/or just looks ricer and gross. MX518 was not exactly pretty either but I'd take it over a rave party looking mouse any day. I regret not getting it when I could. Doesn't seem like there was ever a better deal than that for $20-30 but I'm not about to buy a used or refurbished mouse.
The closest thing I've found is maybe the G400, which seems pretty great, but it's too expensive for me.
>>
Zowie FK2 or 1 whichever one is the largest one. I don't remember.

Steelseries is also great.

Any other mice are awful.
>>
just get a g400
>>
I would buy Zowie too.
I am done with Logitech products for life.
>>
I'm happy with the M500 but I don't know your price.
>>
>>51940288
Why done with Logitech?
I'm hearing a lot of great things about the g303.
>>
>>51939875

still have mine working just fine. The logo is faded as fuck. Must have had this for about 6 years now.
>>
>>51939875
The CM Sentinel 3 comes pretty close

Logitech mice produce a constant high frequency sound. I don't get how people can use them without going insane.
>>
>>51944033
They aren't eight years old so they can't hear it.
>>
you can get a Razer deathadder chroma for like $50 how is that expensive?

I've had the MX500 MX510 MX518 and G400. I switched to the G502 after much pondering since I loved the old design, but I have zero regrets, it's a vastly superior mouse and you get used to it really fast. It's so much more accurate it's not even a comparison and the infinite scroll is just so much fun and surprisingly useful outside of games.

Also my first three mice, all died because the cable went to crap and USB kept disconnecting. I even fixed the MX510 with a new cable and gave it to my parents, but the G502 has such a nice braided cable, I don't think this will ever happen to her.

The G400 I still use at the computer at my parents place and I've come to like it a good bit less than the G502. You really should give it a try and if you can't get over it in like 2-3 weeks, just send it back or sell it or something.
>>
>>51944187
never mind... just read OP and he's saying the G400 is too expensive.

>>51939875
WTF OP?
>>
Redpill me on the g303 /g/

Will it destroy my wrists? Or is it a good claw replacement for the G9? Everything I've read about it says the sensor and buttons are top notch, just the shape is life ending.
>>

>>51944198
Does every mouse look like a fisher price toy nowadays?
>>
>>51944222
If that's your term for "optimized for real gamers" then yes.
>>
So I was looking at amazon and the mx518 was priced at 145€. What the flying fuck? Why the hell is it so expensive?
>>
>>51944187
I also switched to the G502 from G400 (before that MX518) and I did not like it. It was garbage. Too heavy, annoying rubber grips on the sides and terrible scroll wheel, just awful. Returned it and bought the G402 which is a bit better, but still not MX518/G400 levels - but it's a lot closer than 502 which is shit. The scroll wheel on the G402 is also bad, but not as bad as the 502.
>>
>>51944251
Because they aren't in production anymore and you're looking at the inflated prices of old stock.
>>
>>51944288
Fuck, what do I do now? My mx518 barely holds itself together and I need a replacement soon, but all affordable ones look like cheap toys with led out its ass.
>>
>>51944033
I changed the cap causing the nouse to physicallt bigger one, same capacity. No more nois

>>
>>51944214
This. I don't even care about the shape as much but I heard that the sensors tend to rattle, if not immediately then not too long into usage
>>
>>51945494
The whole g303 rattle situation seems like some serious autism to me. Has this kind of sensor disruption been recorded on any other logitech mouse?

Faggots with shakey hands playing on DPI too high I think

Your opinion bro and I'd just accept it, but how can you hate on the wheel?

Are you an actual insane person? All the MX mice and G400 just had plastic hinges and paperclip for steps as a wheel. I'm not shitting you and when you use them you can even feel the low quality garbage.

Now you are calling the G502 wheel garbage and miss the MX shit? Jesus christ, while I'd otherwise tolerate your opinion you need to hand in your opinion card for this year.

>pic related and the paperclip thing does nothing but the clicking.
>>
>>51939875
I have the g400s version 2

did I do good /g/?

is it really a improved mx518
I have both
>>
>>51939875
Get the G500, it's the one I bought specifically to replace the MX518

Same shape, similar sensor, better buttons, two different scroll modes, a braided cable. It's got that custom weight gimmick. It's awesome.
>>
deathadder is pretty similar and also the best gam3r mouse ever created

if you want to listen to ultra shitters at fps buy steelseries g5 or whatever
>>
>>51944474
I had an MX510 for 10 years before the scroll wheel wore down so it started skipping when scrolling, got another MX510 which is like 7 years old. Next mouse I get will be logitech, this shit lasts forever.
>>
I've been needing a decent mouse for a while, is there anything /g/ recommends?
>>
Any opinions on Steelseries Rival 300 ?
Basically the only mouse that's interesting me, want to hear some good things or some shit on it
>>
Can someone post the /g/ recommended mouse image?
>>

god tier

good tier

shit tier

>>
>>51943842
I thought mine died once, turns out it was just my shitty mousepad had rubbed crap onto the optics of the mouse. Cleaned it off and it's just rocking on here in almost 2016, and I got it in 2008.

Best mouse purchase ever.
>>
>>51949329
It's like 5 years old
Mionix Naos 7000
Logitech G303/402/502
SS Rival 300
Razer Deathadder Chroma
Zowie
Maybe one or two another mice, basically what's left is personal preference
>>
>>51948895
I like the 3d printable plate thingy
>>
>>51949401
It's gimmicky as fuck, but I guess if you have access to 3d printer, it's pretty cool for it to be changeable
What I'm more interested in is build quality and any shit that's wrong with it

Why no love for this?

Corsair - Gaming SABRE RGB Optical

Seems to be superior to any of the Logitech offers in settings, specs, feel, etc.

I think the G series mouses feel like cheap crap compared to this or my old MX518
>>
>>51949393

dont fall for the ss rival troll

the sensor isnt centered properly and it has LOD issues that cause it to skip massively
>>
>>51949499
For fucks sake, it's the only mice that looked decent
What buy
>>
>>51949521

deathadder is really good imo but some people get defective mice. i smashed mine and it still works mostly so it should be all set there. the downside with DA is that you have to support razer but u gotta take the good with the bad. the only thjing i dont like about the deathadder is that its kinda big for my tiny hands. everything else is great

g303 is supposed to be good
>>
>>51949663
Based on that I like comfortable palm grip, with very rarely other grips the only choices for me seemed DA and Rival, but Rival was bigger than DA, which I like and I'd rather support SS than Razer, as long as the mice are pretty much the same in quality and shit
Since no one said anything bad about the Rival and I've heard shit on Razer, I'm more keen on the Rival
>>
>>51949663
G303 is overpriced
>>
Can I go wrong with a Zowie or is there a specific one I should buy?
>>
>>51944033
Not all of them have the faulty cap.
>>
>>51949786
why do you say that
>>
>>51950918
Because it is 50 bucks and this here

>>51949457

Is superior in every way and is only $40
>>
Had a mx518 and a g400, loved both, but time got the best of them. Is there like a "successor" to them yet? I'm in dire need of a new mouse and neither mice are available in my country.
Is there anything with a similar feel and a button or two on the side?
>>
>>51951837
well the successor for g400 right now is g402, well or g502, so yeah, not great
>>
>>51951853
Jesus those look terrible
Logitech please, what are you even doing
>>
>>51951889
Steelseries Rival isn't too "gaymey"
Mionix Naos 7000 is very comfortable if you palm grip
Zowie has some mice that would fit you
Pretty much every mouse now has the thumb buttons
>>
>>51946767
I agree, the MX518 was one of the worst scroll wheels I've used. The clicking was pretty loose and tended to not always line up with the actual scrolling. The rest of the mouse was OK, but I already like my EC2-A better as a replacement.
