How often do you format and reinstall your OS, /g/? I tend to do so once every 6 months.

uh, it depends, every 6 month or so, i get paranoid more often than not, so..yeah, 6 month.

- Change the motherboard
- Prepare for a major OS upgrade
- Break the computer
I've had the same Debian Jessie install since early 2014. I suppose I'll dist-upgrade to Stretch when that becomes the new Stable.

About once per machine. I get it, I install my unix-like of choice, then I continue to use it until it's no longer serviceable hardware.

I used to reinstall windows every 3 months. But then it got to be a hassle installing everything again, So I created my own disk copy that automatically installs all the latest versions of programs for me.
But now, I haven't reinstalled in a year or so. Winblows 8.1 master race.
