Well /v/ was somewhat hostile with my thread here >>>/v/320578948 so I try my luck here instead.
I want to build my 11 year old nephew a gaming PC, even though he hinted that he wanted a PS4 for Christmas.
What does /g/ think of this build;
- SilverStone Raven RVZ02B mini-ITX
- Intel i7 3770K
- Noctua NH-L9i
- G.Skill Trident-X 16GB DDR3 2400MHz
- EVGA GTX 780 Ti ACX 3GB GDDR5
- Samsung 840 Pro 120GB SSD
- Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HDD
- SilverStone SX600-G Gold Plus 600W PSU
Mostly spare parts from other builds I never got to doing, and I'll probably chuck in an Xbone controller so he can have his "console" experience.
If hes wants a PS4, its gonna be best to get him a PS4 to be honest.
All of his friends are going to be on PS4, he can share games with friends who have PS4's, he knows what he wants.

/g/ isn't your tech hotline
A big part of gaming for 90 percent of people is being able to play with friends and talk to each other while playing. No one but autists care that much about graphics to not be able to play with friends, especially an 11 year old. Get him a PS4.
just buy him what he wants you fucking tool. nothing worse than some fucking faggot who tries to push a different platform on someone.
for fucks sake, go back to /r/pcmasterrace will all of the other children will play along
fuck off

Buy it for him OP. I bet he'll just play minecraft and farmville. Better yet, I bet he'll just say "I wanted a PS4!"

no, fuck him. Build him a superomputer then install gentoo on it so he can't use it unless he learns how
>/v/ called me out on being a huge tool
>oh I know I'll go to /g/ surely they'll jerk me off about my super great idea!
>>51925206
Buy him what he wants instead forcing your shitty hobby on him
>i7
You fucking retard.
Buy him a PS4 and yourself a XboxOne.
Or just kill yourself.
no, definitely, this is a great idea.
what you could also do is make a small upgrade on those components and jam them as far as you can up your ass.

there's no sensible reason to get a 128gb ssd over a 256 these days, it's only like 15-20 bux more (also get your nephew a ps2 and act like you're pretty sure you got him the thing that he asked for)

Don't do it, OP.
He wants a PS4. Just get him a fucking PS4. Don't be a douche and buy something he doesn't even want. Also, your build is shitty and overpriced.
Seriously man, don't do it. He'll hold it against you for a long ass time.
