Why is it so hard to understand that macbooks give you a superior experience to any windows laptop you will buy?

The way I understand it, you only buy a macbook if you want to fit in at starbucks or at college because you're afraid people will call you poor for not blowing $1000 on a computer that you MUST replace every year.
I'm not being facetious. If you bought a macbook for vanity reasons, you cannot stick with an old model or else people will just assume you're poor and bought it used.

And to actually settle this stupid thing once and for all. people use different thing because they have too. I use Windows because I like to play games and produce music. The only os that let's me do both. Others use Linux because they are into servers and vms and shit. Others use Mac because they are rich and want to get overpriced hardware.

Laptops suck in general, so the fact that people consider anything that isn't a MBA just doesn't make any sense to me. You use a laptop for the portability/battery life. you're not doing anything supremely productive in a fucking laptop so anything that says something like that is full of shit. This is why everyone buys MBA and MBP, they just work and do what a laptop is supposed to fucking do.

Eh, it's a grey area, every opinion i. It's more about what laptop fills your needs in the most efficient way, that's why everyone shits on gaming laptops.
Do you need a sleek looking laptop? Cant be arsed to troubleshoot things? Value form over function? Need an easy to use stable OS that will probably never leave you hanging? Get a mbp.
Else, you're better off with another option, especially if you care about money.

Because I have used them, and the build quality was complete shit. When CPU temps are regularly reaching 96C, and it's unsafe to keep the damn thing in your lap without some object in between to keep it from irradiating your balls, you cannot call it a good user experience. Neither is it being insanely easy to dent.

Seriously, there's no good 300-500 dollar competitor, if you're buying windows laptop it's going to be severely crippled by some bad choice in build, or way too expensive and at that point you might as well get the MacBook.
Chromebooks seem to be good machines but I'm sure the only reason that is is because they have chromeos. Still the king as far as I'm concerned for a Linux laptop with emphasis on portability, battery, and build.

My experiences with Linux have actually been much more pleasant than they have been with Mac OS X. Package management on OS X is.... terrible. Not as terrible as it is on Windows (where it just doesn't exist), but so far it just pales in comparison to Linux package managers.
