Where were you when uBlock was put to shame by Redmorph?

https://redmorph.com/compare.html

> No, but Coming Soon!

They offer paid VPN services, but the extension itself (adblocker+privacy protector) is completley free. I declare uBlock and uBlock Origin officially dead.

gorhill and Chris confirmed on suicide watch. Redmorph beats uBlock in everything: the number of requests blocked and GUI.

If it's not free open source software I don't care.

You're forgetting that ublock is FOSS and has a communicative dev, that's a pretty big advantage

Fuck off gorshill
But more importantly, they don't compare what happens when you combine compatible extensions. What if redbotnet does pretty much just that - combining the block strategy of various addons, except very poorly? It covers more than any single addon, but since it's shit, it can't even reach the ankle of other addons combined.
>>
Post source code.

i trust gorhill. we don't know who the fuck are behind the thing you are shilling, mr. shekelberg

Yes,
lets compare our paid $5/month product to something that is free..

Why not compare features across the same price point ?

eg free vs free
$5/monthly vs $5/monthly

The privacy/adblocker part is completely free, idiot.

They charge for VPN and other things that actually cost money.

Safari Content blocker still is faster than uBlock Origin. Use it in tandem with squid + dnsmasq and I don't even notice the page flash when I click on a link, it instantly appears.

It's a steal at $49.95/mo. I doubt any tech-literate person can afford to be without RedMorph.

Their website and the extension are fucking shit when it comes to dealing with small window sizes.

Just look at this shit, there is no scrollbar and I can't even see the text on the fucking button.

Who designed this piece of shit? You ACTIVELY have to make things behave in such a retarded manner.

Certainly has a sleek look to it. But proprietary and privacy don't go together imo. If they open source it, I'll check it out again.

I think this sums up things about right.

It's shit Jim. Just another adblocker probably stealing half of its code from FOSS alternatives with half the features.

how is the number of packets a good metric? all of those could be false positives.
>>
>>51910179
Somewhat worse, they use a silly metric like "packets" instead of something like "bytes" or "connections".

There's no guarantee that two requests containing the same data will use the same number of packets, especially if there is encryption involved so it is pretty much the worst thing to count.
>>
>>51905155
> comparing number of connections
> no comparisons to performance, which is the main point of uBlock
Two things:
• I'm going to need evidence this isn't anything more than just a difference in block lists
• I want to see a performance comparison. Because what's the use if it eats up resources like ABP does?
