Non-hyper threaded duel cores really don't cut it anymore. I'd go for an 860k if you wanna stay cheap or spend a little extra and get an i3.

Well, PC parts in my country are already prohibitively expensive, 780ti's when brand new were selling for around $1100.
I have an almost minimum wage job. I'm not in university or anything, but I can barely afford my 2nd hobby.

Desktop is off, it's a 280X Vapor-X and if i leave it on the normal fan profile it doesn't go above 75. My own profile lets it hit 82-83 in the interest of dat quiet.

I actually have DDR2400 in it that I picked up last years black friday.
This is just an HTPC that stays on forever, and also runs my plex server. For what I do with it, I figured I'd keep the ram clocked lower until I play some games on it.
Then I'll turn on XMP and run it at 2400

I would have figured it would handle at least minecraft w/o shaders, etc. I have an HTPC with a Q6600 and a GT 430 that's practically passively cooled and it can handle indie games surprisingly well; 1080p 30fps on Sir, You Are Being Hunted high settings, 720p 30fps average on Insurgency with medium settings. SteamOS.
I know the 430 is much stronger than the 5450, but still... even my old GTX 8600 256mb could handle SOME games at 1080p.
Have a 120gb SSD as well but got really mad with the cabling and broke the SATA connector.
