Quick, name a better desk mic for the price.
Inb4 the yeti meme
AT2035.
USB mics are shit.
Be sure to get an audio interface for XLR mics.
>>
>>51866060
Behringer C-series.
>>
>>51866060
That's an at2020 and I have the same. It's great. At2035 is better though. Has better low end.
>>51867882
At2020 USB is still better than yeti. Don't buy a USB mic

>beringer
You don't record do you?
>>
Can anyone recommend a quality 1/4 to 3.5 mm adapter?
>>

>beringer
You don't write, do you?

>condenser mics
>for home use

lmao you morons are retarded, get a dynamic vocal mic
>>
I have a CAD u37. It get's the job done.
>>
Thinking of buying a at2035 with a scarlett solo. Anyone got the solo?
>>
>>51871163
I have the 18i8. It's pretty good. A hassle to control all it's options and volume though. Also, it's mic preamps don't have THAT much amplification. Something like 10dB less than other, more expensive mic preamps.
>>
the 100 dollar xlr at2020 with some cheap audio interface for like 50 bucks is a very good price.
>>
I'm all about quality shit, but I'm not spending $300 upwards just for a dac & non condenser mic for simple voice overs and commentary uses. I'm sure XLR is better but it's not worth the extra dollar and trouble for me. From my lifetime of using headset mics, I'm perfectly fine with this stuff
>>
>>51871867
Then just grab a Samson Go mic.
Miles better than built-in webcam or headset mics, but 1/3 the cost of a Yeti or AT2020.
>>
>>51866060
I like my Yeti. You can get them on amazon lightning deals for ~75 every so often

I'm using a solo with a rode nt1a and audeze lcd2. It's pretty barebones as far as features go but it has a decent mic pre-amp (running it at about 60% gain for the rode and it's plenty loud and sensitive without any background noise or hiss). Same goes for the headphone jack, volume knob sitting at around 66% for the lcd2 and outputs more volume than I could ask for. Would recommend if you're content with the little i/o it has and don't need more.

AT2035
ART Tube amp
Radioshack XLR to USB
Is there a better setup or no? I'm gonna plug the xlr to usb directly into the tube amp so there's less line loss/noise.
>>
>>51867882
There is an XLR version
>>
Why is a USB mic worse? also, I I were to get a AT2035, what else would I need to capture the audio, I'm guessing a sound card in my computer of some kind then.
>>
>>51867882
>USB mics are shit.

Op's looks pretty XLR based to me
>>
>>51874893
>Why is a USB mic worse?

Audiophile meme, XLR is analogue, USB is pure digital which will always sound cleaner.
>>
Whilst slightly dated, the Snowyeti is the choice for babby's first recording mic
>>
>>51871867
ADC, not DAC
>>
>>51875481
It's because of external interface probably has better adc than the one built in to usb-mic.
>>
>>51871998
not him but what you think about the samson meteor?
>>
These people are meeming you OP, just get the AT2020, there is nothing wrong with the USB interface, you wont notice the difference.
>>
All of these fancy mics I'm seeing thrown around in this thread require a quiet environment right?
>>
>>51877801
Yeah, any good quality mic will require a controlled sound environment. They're good quality mics for professional purposes, not to talk to your buddies. But if it doubles for both uses, absolutely go for it. It's what I have planned.
AT2035
Steinberg UR22

Is the Samson Go Mic the best in its price range?
(I don't need an expensive mic but this would probably be a big difference to the cheap chink mic I am using.)
>>
>>51878245
Any recommendation for someone who talks to their buddies, and occasionally streams for smalls groups of people? (5-30 people)
>>
>>51866060
Can anyone name a good mic to clip on the headphone cable?

If you don't need an expensive mic, don't buy one.

the newer rock band mic actually works really nice. $3 at thrift store.
>>
>>51878555
That's why I won't get a Yeti or AT2020.
I wouldn't consider 33 EUR to be expensive though if it's a noticeable improvement over the typical <5 EUR chink mics.
>>
>>51875463
The AT2020 is a USB mic
>>
>>51878543
Shure SM57.
It's ~$100 USD.

I've got the samson, it's pretty good for chatting bollocks on teamspeak etc
>>
>>51866060
Behringer XM8500, its basically a Shure SM58 clone, but affordable. Sounds great.
>>
>>51879682
