Building a new comp soon and looking at monitors. I have been considering the BenQ XL2720Z. Response time is most important to me, followed by 144hz, followed by viewing angle/color accuracy. Am I stupid for considering a tn panel in 2016? Can i actually get 144hz in any newer games with an i5 and a 980? Any good ips panels in the same range that can handle more than 60hz?
>>

Bump, I really want a monitor with fast response so I can get this 21 inch crt beast off my desk and relegated to my dedicated emulation machine, resolutions <1080 are off the table for me as id like to get more than 30 fps without building some sli beast.
>>
I went with the dell ultrasharp u2414h
8ms
60hz

p2715Q reporting in.

Don't skimp out on a monitor, its gonna be the longest lasting component of your rig and its something you will have to look at all the time.
>>
I've got three xl2430t panels.
They're actually quite good for TN panels after they're calibrated.
They looked like utter trash out of the box though.

The meme is that your mother is currently choking on my chunky white cum. I will samefag and sage the fuck out of this cancerous thread. Cancer cures cancer.

OK THEN, may I ask what ips montior has 23-25 inch with good hz, ms and has good colour then?
>>
>>51864504
Eizo Foris FS2735. Blows everything else out of the water.

what is the best monitor for image crisp and colour quality and has
5 ms or less
above 100hz
24"
IPS
1080p

I'd ask this in SQT but this seems like a much more appropriate place to ask since there's a dedicated thread.

I bought a u2414h and I read that the monitor is coming with a DP to miniDP cable that's meant to go from DP on GPU to miniDP in on the monitor, I assume.

Is it possible to reverse these cables? Like say if my GPU only had miniDP output, could I plug the other end into a full size DP on the monitor and it would work?
>>
>>51866884
yes, I got it with me right now, you can reverse it

Should I get a 144hz monitor or just a 24hz monitor?

Recommend me a monitor for muh gaymes, but I'm tired of doing photography work on my fagbook so hopefully it's got some dank colors

I hope you're joking. It's a terrible monitor. EIZO makes shit

You really need to choose one or the other, mate. I supposed you should get one of the 1440p IPS 144hz monitors
>>
Recommendations for good 1440p IPS screen to replace my one that just died today? 25" or 27" is good, don't want to go much smaller or larger than that. Don't really want to go above 1440p since my GPU is pretty middle of the road and might struggle with higher.

I think Dell is having a deal right now for $400 + $125 gift card.
>>
>>51869818
Sony GDM-FW900 is the real only affordable option
>>
After using a 144hz monitor I seriously can't go back to 60. It's so fucking terrible it's unreal. Don't give a shit if they're all TN or not.
>>
>>51872349
Unfortunately looks to have expired 3 days ago. Sucks that my monitor couldn't have died a bit earlier I guess.

Would I be a moron to take a factory refurbished one to save 72 bucks?
>>
>>51872429
Also one last maybe silly question but is it worth trying to sell my old (non-working) monitor on ebay for parts? I think it's the electronics that died, the LCD should still be good.
