Honest question, what is the value of private trackers?
There has never been anything I wanted to download which I couldn't either find in a public tracker or a way to steal a stream of, even with fairly obscure music. It helps that I speak some Russian, no less. I saw textbooks mentioned in this thread, and sometimes it's tricky or impossible to find scans but could a smaller private website really be better?
Are they for people who want to download a full discography/season of a show or anime? Is it about the community and content sharing? I do download a lot of books as well but generally it's not too hard to find a scan if it's old or popular, I feel like if it's in the gray area it's just as unlikely to be in a private tracker.
I really appreciate any replies, I have read up on this but not being in any private trackers I'd just like to hear about your experiences finding downloads which either suit your needs very well or have lots of obscure content.
