Because that's the speed your ISP serves you, 300 us the Max it can provide if your ISP gave you that speed, they don't.

i have 200mbits you mong

i wish my devices could get more than that.. gonna get something with wifi AC next
>>
That's like asking why your USB 2.0 devices can't reach 480Mbps

Forward Error Correction
Protocol overhead
Packet loss due to non-correctable signal distortion
Packet collisions

Is your router dual-band N? I think 2.4GHz N might max out around there. Need 5GHz for maximum gaymer speed.

You need a better router or internet connection if you're max is only 50Mbps :)

Oh I just saw you said you have 200Mbps. Yeah, your router is poo. Mine is 100/100 and I'm using a Netgear R7000 with DD-WRT.

My internet and router are fine.

The NIC on my cheap phones and tablets/laptops are rather shitty.

Looking forward to getting something with AC or at least dual-band N

Um... I just showed you that I get my maximum line speed on a mobile phone.

So yes, your router is shit.

Your phone has AC wifi or possibly dual band.. what phone is it
>>
>>51829731
Most modern phones are AC.

iPhone 6s Plus. Would you like me to take a speedtest on just N?

Eh, slightly slower. I could probably get the same speeds if I took a few more tests.

802.11n is theoretically 300Mbps. You're never going to get that because there's probably twenty other access points around you (You can transmit at the same time as someone else on the same channel) and a few of those were probably set up by idiots that put them on channels besides 1, 6, or 11 (at least for US configurations) and when they do that, it fucks shit up for everyone.

If your AP supports 5GHz, make sure to use that, since it's less crowded and allows larger bands. You might squeeze out a little extra bandwidth that way. Otherwise, upgrade to 802.11ac. I typically get a signaling rate (The number that Windows says it's connected at) of 400Mbps or higher with it, but you still usually only get 50% of your signaling rate. Luckily for you, you'd probably still get your full 200Mbps.

You probably live in an apartments which are basically worst case for wifi

multiple noisy shit wifi boxes, tonnes of reverb of steel inner firecores.

>N wifi
>300 Mbps

Lol no. Maybe you'll get 90 if you're right next to the router using 5ghz

Pic related is my Galaxy S5 connected to my Tp-Link Archer C2. That's with 802.11ac on both devices, connected to the 5 GHz band.
