The fan failed on the graphics card in my wife's computer. I literally zip-tied a case fan to it and just let it run at stock speeds all the time.

Has been working fine.

Remove the plastic shroud and fan and attach a new fan using plastic ties. If you like you can wire up the new fan to the fan controller on the graphics card, worked for me on an old HD 4890.

get rid of that shit fan, cut cables and get it out or something.
tape a case fan to the side, or ziptie it,
it'll do well in guts threads especially if you use a nice noctua fan.

Remove current fan.
Install new fan.
Make sure it's secure and spins.
Try to use a mounting that can handle high temperatures.
Oh and don't drill holes in PCB.

There you go, done.
