Drawing tablets are technology
What is a /g/ recommended drawing tablet?
>>
I use the cheapest shit i could find, some chinese trash rebranded locally as "medion".

Works ootb in ganoy/looneytunex so i can't say i have anything to complain about.
>>
i use the huion 580 its like $50
>>
>>51824811
Get a Surface Pro 2 instead

Not a newer model because they don't use Wacom tech
>>
>>51824811
I use a Huion 610 pro, it's nice.
>>
The best of the cheapest is probably by huion, something like the 420/h420

if you want it to last for than a month, don't get a wacom
>>
>>51829870
wacom is a good choice if you aren't retarded and using win10 or something.
h420 is too cheap and shit for most people, unless you play shitty online rhythm game where a mouse is superior in every way
>>
I'd always choose Wacom over Huion only because of the drivers.

Huion doesn't let you define per-application profiles for example.
The tablet doesn't work without the application running and stops responding in UAC prompts.
The driver itself is a mess and is somehow reading raw usb data from the tablet and then uses this https://github.com/djpnewton/vmulti to generate input events.

>>51830255
Only 10% of top players use a mouse. And most of their scores are generally stream maps.
>>
>>51830449
Mouse can everything but it's harder to jump accurately than with a tablet. Not impossible, but doable. Drag it's the hardest thing to counter and is the biggest reason why tablets are favourable.

I just use a wacom bamboo that I got a few years ago, hasn't failed on me yet.

Thinking of getting the 'intuos' line, but I don't see the need until the bamboo break.

Just look up reviews of any other brands, I can't really comment on them since I haven't used any. But, from experience, bamboo's are good and inexpensive.

Bought this one a few days ago. Haven't tried it yet though. Seems pretty good for the price.
>>
>>51824811
I threw out my cintiq 21UX DTZ2100 A/G a few years ago and got a DTK-2100/KO
would recommend. not that the DTZ was bad..
>>
>>51826107
Surfaces suck for drawing. I have a surface pro 4. Way, way way too much lag.
>>
>>51824811
what do the /g/ drawfags think of huion?
>>
>>51824811
Consider Monoprice tablets (or any tablet with a UC-Logic digitizer.) You can find blog posts by artists who claim these are more responsive than Wacoms. I have a Monoprice and it works fine but I've not tried anything else.
>>
i use a wacom intuos and have no complaints. i just draw as a hobby tho so take it fwiw
>>
I recommend wacom intou anything 3 or over should be good. medium
>>
>>51825796
>>51828237

These really.

You can always buy something expensive once you've tried one and know your personal preferences.
>>
Yo wtf!!
Why is it so hard for Wacom to add a straight edge functionality on their drivers??
>>
hentai artist here. I use Wacom intuos 5.
>>
/i/ has a big thread up right now about them with like 150 replies. It seems as though Wacom is the most used model, the Inuos Pro being the most popular and most affordable. The Cintiq runs for about $1000 to $2,500. The Bamboo is the budget model at $160 but does what you'd need it to.

I just use an iPad air because I don't want to buy a dedicated drawing tablet.
>>
>>51826107
>10 inch tablet that overheats and has some of the worst cursor drift and parallax is better because it is wacom

If you draw slow I can sort of see why you wouldn't want a SP3/4. Otherwise there isn't that much reason to go with a Wacom device other than brand recognition.

Cut up a cheap glove for less friction while drawing.

Don't listen to chinese memers.

Wacom is the way to go.
Intuos line if you're cheap/entry level
Intuos Pro if you want something solid and reliable with extended features
Cintiq if you're made of money or pro level.

There's a reason literally everyone on a professional level uses Wacom, and it's not just that their pen tech is the best.
>>
>>51824811
Currently I am using a Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch small and a Huion GT190

All depends on your budget
>>
>>51824811
>What is a /g/ recommended drawing tablet?
The one you're most comfortable with.
>>

>There's a reason literally everyone on a professional level uses Wacom, and it's not just that their pen tech is the best.
Yes, there's a reason, but it's simply inertia. Wacom became "good enough" about 20 years ago. Why experiment with new brands or technologies when what you have a product that you're used to that fully meets your requirements? We have 10+ year old Wacom units in my office that are functionally identical to the newest ones.

That said, wacom hasn't improved their technology since ever and a lot of Chinese cheapo products really are better now, but sorting through them isn't trivial.

it's a wacom tablet,
you can pick one up for around $150 - $230 on ebay

I have a wacom. I only use it to play video games. The most annoying part is the short hover distance. If I lift it too much it completely loses track of the pointer and I'm fucked.

i'm getting my girlfriend this for christmas this year
>>
I bought an Ugee m708 for $50 from china.
It's literally better than my old wacom bamboo.

Wacom is Apple of tablets.
>>
Really can't beat Wacom

I've had my Intuos3 9x12 since 2005 and it's still peforming perfectly even now and matches my preferred screen ratio to boot (all newer ones are 16:9).

This. If you're poor or can't coordinate standalone tablet, like me, x220t is really good. Ones in good and relatively unscathed condition go for almost $300. I got mine for $240 and everything works with no password locks. HP has a comparable Elitebook for even less, but have never tried it.
I've just been running into some software problems with win10. Multi-touch input stopped working. It's win10 since it works in kubuntu.
Lately, I've been using it to shit out undertale trash.
>>
What happen to Yiynova and kingtee
>>
Huion 1060 Pro. Got it 70€. Wacom that size might be marginally better (drivers mainly, Huion lacks the custom profiles and shit), but it costs 4-5 times more.
>>
>>51838481
They probably changed brands.

Ask an artist community, not /g/. These guys don't know their elbows from their assholes, and they certainly don't know how to draw, regardless of what lies they tell to the contrary.

Pic related, it's the level of discourse you can expect on this topic on /g/.

I only spent a month or two frequenting IC but the impression I got is that it's one of the most elitist-filled boards around. They won't hesitate to shit all over you if what you post doesn't cater to their tastes perfectly.
