I added a bunch of torrents that I already had the files for using the watch folder in rtorrent. All hash checked fine but they go into a "pausing" state. Try stopped and starting and they keep going back to pausing rather than seeding. Whats going on?

The amount of filtering you'd have to do to guarantee you get what you want and never ever burn buffer on shit you did not want is too much. I'd rather check the source for everything I download. It's not exactly a big time investment, especially for TV Shows where you check a single episode and then set the whole thing to go.
If I set all those filters up odds are half the time it wouldn't even download anything and I'd have to go find something manually anyway.

Buffer is how much upload you have over download. Using up all your buffer takes you to 1.0 ratio. Nothing beats autodl-irssi for building buffer because you get releases before anyone else and get to race for upload as well as upload to everyone that grabs it later that day.

Well if you're on windows you probably don't need autodl-irssi since you're on a home connection that 99/100 doesn't have the speeds to race. It does suck you can't use it to snatch stuff you just want to watch and don't care about buffer on but I believe you can actually use Cygwin to run it. Then just set it to save to a watch folder for µTorrent - yes it actually has those - or Deluge or something.

You do if your home connection isn't great, because it's seedboxes you'll be racing against and if they're all downloading/uploading at 100MB/s and you're uploading at 80KB/s you're going to lose buffer fast. Don't use autodl-irssi to race on a slow connection, but you can use it to grab stuff you're interested in if you'd like, just be careful with the filters so it ONLY gets what you want/need.
