Well I use cans cause I don't have a separate machine not to mention if you're negligent you might turn the air compressor too high and cause damage.

I tried not using an air can before and actually took my heat sink out to wash it without realizing that my CPU was still attached to it when I was washing it. Since then I just play it safe and use a can of air.
