Congratulations on your excellent purchase!
I'm still rocking my Q6600 from 8 years ago.
Phenom II x4 965 reporting.

wish i had bought a sandy instead of ivy, my ib needs too much power for 4.5ghz

thanks

The only downside is because I bought my motherboard in 2011 guess what it doesn't have ? PCI-Express 3. So even with my nice 770gtx (had originally a 560ti but it went and died) it still will never run as good as it could be. Still my computer is nice and comfy. If anything all I need in it is a SSD. 8 gigs of ram is fine, everything else is fine.

I dont think any graphics card saturates PCIe Gen 2 yet anon

holy shit 2500k is 5 years old
i am old
>all these fags that feel for the 2500k/560ti meme
Must have been great to have needed to replace the shitty 560ti the next year because you believed /g/ and got literally 4 times the cpu you needed
>hurrr let's skimp on the Graphics card on a gaming computer hurr
Oh yeah don't forget a 600+ watt psu for a single fucking video card and a 120$ "minimalist" case that looks identical to a mini-fridge.

That ain't a Phenom x6

2600k @ 4.8 stable
Gtx 680
Still plays games max settings >80fps
Why do people even upgrade? Only reason I want to is for IOMMU, otherwise, no point.

>Made my first upgrade to her just a few days ago (RAM)
6 years baby, feels fucking good. I see no need (though it'd be nice) to upgrade the cpu, at least until I'm ready to go microATX.

Oh it doesn't ? But doesn't running a 3 card in a 2 slot lessen it's performance a bit just by the simple standard change? I mean I'm glad for the back compatibility but this was always something I was curious about not that it's a huge noticeable deal.

This. Might get zen if it's good, but still don't have much reason to upgrade. DX12/Vulkan's improved multithreading should keep this chip going for a long while
Tahiti has also been aging well
>>51763557
it does by like 1% at most, you will never notice a difference if you went PCIe Gen 3
