Upgrading my pc and need to know whether I should upgrade my cpu or motherboard.. specs right now.
CPU: AMD FX 4300
Mobo: MSI 760 GM P-23 (FX)
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SC 4GB GDDR5
PSU: EVGA 850 Watt 80+ gold certified
What I want: an AMD 8350
You should upgrade everything at once or nothing. Next thing you know you'll be stuck with a Frankenstein machine with bottlenecks all over the place because you sourced parts from every era

Just buck up and get a Z97 + 4690k, lad.
If you want a 8350, why don't get get one?
8350 will probably work with that motherboard.

Motherboard probably can't handle the CPU. Best to upgrade both cpu/mobo together.

This is the motherboard I want to get

Save, upgrade from scratch.

Get the asus m5a99x evo or pro instead. Make no mistake if you want to overclock those 8 core chips (which is why you want an expensive mobo right?) you should not fuck around.
Also: 8320e > 8350 for overclocking.
8350 overclocks like a champ, id buy a used 8350 and a closed loop watercooler.

What sort of temps does your mobo hit under torture loads? Something like IBT or p95.

this.
last sunday i built a 8320E build for a friend, only had to oc it to 4ghz and it was ready to go, for the same price than a i3

Like me, I got a FX-4350 and a R9 300

>you should be rich like me
Great idea, anyone else?
>>51761111
Neither - the msi board isn't known for its reliable vrms and asrock are shit all around.

Same price.

Well, the CPU is trash.

>recommending a 132€ motherboard
The guy is clearly not having a lot of money and you suggest he buys some really fucking pricy mobo?
>>51761386
Better to spend them onmey on that than not and decide to one day overclock his chip and watch as a cheaper mobo explode. Those 8 core fx chips are no joke and a lot of 970 boards barely handle them at stock clocks.
Go get an intel cpu. Dont go for amd cpu's. They arent that good
