I need external sound card for my hackintosh build.
What is a good and fairly cheap alternative for built in audio module?
I have now:
Realtek ALC1150 115dB SNR HD Audio with Built-in rear audio amplifier
Do you have any experience with picrelated.

What is an external sound card

The built in is good. Don't spend money for useless shit.

yea, bought it forever ago. makes a pop in my speakers whenever i power on my computer.
I think it sounds better than my laptop, but i've got an odac for my headhones so i've never tried it out. I remember it helped my crank up my crappy logitech 2.1 satelite speakers without clipping as much as my on board. I want to say it sounds bassier but like i said, i never tested it out.

Have you tried installing codeccommander + the multibeast alc1150 kext? That might fix your audio issues.

i don't want to improve sound quality but it would be nice to have decent sound

Get DAC / amp combo like o2 / odac from jds labs. Don't buy this retarded piece of crap.
