My professor gave us this question and wanted us all to explain the logic behind it. It is a trick question but I'm not sure if that's because of the way the question is worded. My explanation is the answer is 6 because there's a total of 5 connections and the router has its own IP address as well.

I think it means how many ips are assigned to the router. Not how many it assigned to other devices. So 1, if the wan port doesn't have some unusually set setting. But the question is too vague
>>
the answer is 2 you dingus, 1 for the WAN which is the public ip, and 1 for the LAN which is the default gateway

this.

1 as assigned to implies a remote assigned from; self assigned address are not assigned "to"

3 conections

1 WAN IP
1 to switch , no IP nut implies LAN Ip
1 ? not mention, but implies one of the above

and 127.0.0.1

Protip you'll fail cause your teacher sucks

127.0.0.1 isn't an assigned address. It's a pre-determined loopback address.

Based on the type of connections to the 3 building you'll have:
1 IP for WAN
1 IP as gateway for LAN
0-3 IPs if someone configured different DHCP pools between the router and the buildings that are not part of the pool of the LAN.
You prof is an idiot btw

is not like the evolution process put it there, is assingned by RFC 6761

Troll aside, look for the answer in forums if this is from CISCO, they want the answer they claim as right
