Not so much seeding, but I know by having higher upload speed you can connect to the swarm more easily and that in turn increases your download speed. That's why dialing your upload to 0 will only hurt you in the long run.

I wasn't a modern and innovative company but ran a small graphics design business for 3 years with an office 1.4km from the Perth central post office (West Australian state capital for non-aus peoples).
I could only get ADSL1, no other option.
Express postage was the only way to get large files to the client in time. I was just glad we had electricity and didn't have to submit work in crayon.
