Sup /g/

Been looking to build a new rig mainly for gaming of course. So here is what im looking at so far. Any feedback is appreciated.
>>
>>51733457
Your build is a living meme. Tell me your budget and i will try to put something together.
>>
>>51733478
im trying to stay around 1500
this build is around 1600
>>
know you kids love ripping everything you can off of bittorrent like you have no ability to value the hard work people and companies put into creating paid content, and hoarding porn but get an SSD for fucks' sake
>>
>>51733457
If you can afford a 980ti then get at least a 4790k with 16 gb of ram and a ssd. AMD fx are budget gaming and 980ti is not budget. Also maybe you can go ddr4 build.

FX-8350 is a good CPU (pic related) but if you're thing is gaming wouldn't you rather get an Intel for that video card? I don't game so I don't worry about it my system is responsive all around.

blacks are just blues with new stickers, anyway.

>not getting hgst instead of wd
>>
>>51734253
no it actually looks really good but I would ask why MSI's 980 ti over EVGA?
>>
>>51733457
Windows 10 for 100$ gtfo of /g/
>>
>>51734287
No reason really. They supposedly have high silicone levels but you can can an EVGA to best fit the color scheme if you care about shit like that.

>XEON
Fucking why?

>uses system for gaming
>better transfer budget to an unlocked CPU with an expensive cooler as if they will be needed...EVER

I can do this all day...
>>
>>51734673
Oh the re-sale!
>>
>>51734673

But they are needed, you retard. An unlocked i5, overclocked to 4.2-4.4 GHz has much higher performance than a 3.5 GHz Xeon with HT.
>>
>>51734702
Has a much higher performance doing what exactly?
>>
>>51734702
And heck they are!
Most of the games are not very CPU intensive and even games that are somewhat cpu intensice do well whit normal mid end CPU.

From my experience having unlocked CPU is just waste of time as it only gives you minimal performace increase, quite bit more power usage and it costs more. Also i'm quite sure that less than 50% of unlocked CPU owners even try to OC it.
>>
Guys, since thread is related

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4vh6Jx

I'm about to order these for a total price of 440€. The GPU is the TOP version. Did I do ok?
>>
>>51734814
no, that's awful
>>
>>51734741

Gaming.
>>
>>51734789

I bought a 4690k and overclocked it instantly to 4.2GHz without even changing voltage. Bumping the voltage by 0.05 gives me 4.4GHz, which is already 1GHz over stock speeds, which in turn gives me much better FPS in modded Skyrim for example.
>>
>>51734814
You did great do not listen to this pathetic faggot >>51734829

I have exactly the same thing except for the motherboard, still a H81 from asrock and everything runs as smooth as it gets in current AAA games and all.
>>
>>51734893
Aight that sounds cool. I'm thinking of playing at 2560x1080 at at least medium settings on games that currently support that resolution.
>>
>>51734938
You will be able to do so with that build. Currently running just standard 1080p. Only games that gave me a hassle were Crysis 3 and the witcher where i had to done down more settings. Generally i leave everything maxed out and just set shadows to Medium-High and tinker a little with AA and SSAO/HBAO settings. And this is not required for all games some i just leave maxed out, say...Starcraft 2.
