I have one myself, green one, can even blow up baloons and heat things up. Bought on aliexpress a couple years ago, still working, but the batteries dry really fast. It's AA batteries, so you can use rechargeables.

Do you know why it shows up like that? Because it has no IR filter. 95% of the emitted light is emitted as invisible infrared. Shitty Chinese diode manufacturers omit the part because it saves money and resellers get to tout the laser as high powered.
You can easily blind yourself or others with such a laser, because you cannot see the infrared light. Never, ever buy cheap green lasers unless you know for absolutely certain that a good IR filter is installed. Check LPF or independent reviews if there is any doubt.

Laser POINTERS over 5mW are banned, and can't be legally sold or imported. Laser modules, even ones designed for pointers, are perfectly legal at any power. You can buy all the parts for a 2W laser pointer, and it should get right through customs.
The only direct laser diode colors you can get cheaply are red and infra red. The infra red ones can be made very cheap, very powerful, and can be diode pumped to modify the output frequency. There is a huge amount of light not visible to the human eye that comes out of diode pumped lasers. Good manufacturers use filters inline to remove or limit this. Chinese manufacturers usually don't. So there actually is a higher risk of you damaging your eyesight if you're particularly stupid when using them.

I did a lot of research before my purchase and I'd suggest Nova, if they're even still in business. They'll ship to the US, unless the times have changed that much.
