Just switched from Intel to AMD... was it a mistake? Do I overclock?
Went from the pentium g3258 (4.4GHz OC) to a fx-8350. Did I fuck up by going with AMD?

I had an FX-8320 since late 2012, just recently replaced when my ASRock 990FX died on me. It was a good chip, had it OCed to 4.2Ghz on air. I mean you won't be unhappy with performance. But I've got to say OP I *really* would have just dumped a Devil's Canyon i5 in your mobo and been done with it. Unless you 1150 mobo was an H81?

Yes, massively. Your per-core performance is absolute trash, half of your cores actually share an FPU, you'll never be able to reliably hackintosh, you can never make use of AVX2 and you'll never be able to run software like Dolphin well.
It might work out okay for general desktop use and some video games. But you closed a lot of computing doors for yourself in going with that chip.

I have an 8320 and it stutters terribly when playing project m. When I overclock to 4.5 ghz, it only stutters at the sat of matches and maybe once during the match.
Well now that my motherboard is fucked(and maybe my psu too?) I'm gonna go Intel. I could just get a new motherboard and replace my psu but fuck it. I'm gonna sell the chip and RMA the motherboard and psu or rma that as well. I've had a terrible experience with my build this past year and I can't deal with it anymore.
Microcenter has the 4790k for like 250 after taxes which is near the price of a 6600k. Never thought I'd see the day where I buy an i7.
