Please help!
Built a new pc (only salvaged from my old build: the psu and the old lcd monitor)
The problem is when i have a game running the screen flickers.. its playable but annoying.
This does not happend when a game is not running
Why ? Is it because im using a old VGA cable?
yeah it sounds like an issue with your video cable. dont know why it would only happen during gaming but give it a try. a $5 fix is better than a $200 one.

maybe, although if you havent been using it that intensively i dont see it being likely. try using the integrated graphics for something and see if the blinking stops.

Use HDMI, display port, or DVI.

and im using a dvi to vga converter since the 980 TI dont support vga

Why the hell would you build that level of a computer when you don't even have a monitor that can take dvi or hdmi? If you're gonna spend that much you might as well get a half decent monitor.
