ram is now something called "G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) it was highly rated
video card is now MSI AMD R9 390 , to my understanding this was the unanimous opinion.
perhaps the cpu needs to change
the mobo needs to change, recommendations would be good.

What speed is that ram? As a rule ram is ram is ram but I would prefer 1866 or faster ram these days as it is so cheap (usually).
Either keep the mobo and get a K cpu or do the reverse, keep the cpu and get a cheaper mobo.

At this point whichever is cheaper is theb est option (bonus option: powercolor PCS+) as a 550w unit is not going to give any sort of room for overclocking.
Side note OP: if you want to into overclocking definitely get a beefier psu.

I would invest in at least a 650W psu now for future upgrades. Also 970 is a meme just get a 390 you fegget. Cpu is fine, cooler is pointless since u cant OC, and if noise is your concern you can get something cheaper.
