No one cares what your cult leader thinks. Fucking religious faggots.

Stallman's time is over and he sucks. He's irrelevant and doesn't know how to use modern operating systems because all he does is be an ideologue who doesn't live in the real world. He now spends his time being a pest and making himself look stupid on mailing lists. I doubt very many people care about your meme.

fuck that faggot stallman, I promote the use of proprietary software like windows 10 just to piss that faggot off.

This isn't about him. It's about the open source community in general, which Cryptocat apparently now also is a part of. You kids just like to argue for arguing's sake. Here's your response.

*Hashcat
My mistake.

Why?

I don't promote, droogie. Just liked to share this news with /g/.

No its about the free software foundation cult not about free software. Hacker does not mean what it did 25+ years ago. Or doth thou protest?
>>
>>51719147
>Or doth thou protest?
I think I do. For one FSF isn't a cult. It's as much a cult as Microsoft is, or some sort of community of people that like peanut butter jelly on their bread. The ambiguity expressed with words such as hacker is a problem, much like when I order noodles and I get spaghetti for instance.

But this is waaaay off topic, I was hoping for some Hashcat discussions.

Still don't care.
>>51718865
I don't care that he's irrelevant, because he is.

I care because his earlier works, before he went batshit insane, are slowly showing up. The Right To Read is unfolding before our eyes but you're too fucking stupid - and spoonfed - to look up from your master's cock to figure it out.

I'll start. How does Hashcat compare to John The Ripper?

There are some comparisons online. They mostly boil down to that John is a very good cracker, who may be faster than Hashcat provided you're using the Jumbo patched version. Hashcat is arguably faster by default though (for some hashes), and may catch some uncracked ones left by John.

Of course, as far as I've deduced from some comparisons. Not speaking from personal experience. I've only used John thus far, which works great.

wow, nice!
what about oclHashcat?
>>
>>51722844
well, holy shit: https://github.com/hashcat/oclHashcat
what happened? IIRC, they used to hate being told to open source their tools
>>
>>51722878
https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-4880.html He eventually saw the light that going open source opens many doors. He states that, for example, It'll be much easier to integrate external libraries (think of GPG) as well making it possible for users to use Hashcat with their own GPU kernel drivers. But mainly because it enables users to directly add salts at compilation time, which is only available when the source code is available.
>>
>>51722844
It will be made open source as well as per the announcement https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-4880.html :-)
