I like sapphire for the 390, and the FTW 970 is overclocked so you get more fps. check your games and see if they use nvidia features, I know arkham knight has smoke effects and particle effects that aren't available on consoles or with AMD.
I watched jayztwocents video on the 390 vs 970 then his video on the sapphire 390 and went for that
found it quite difficult to get it actually, it was sold out in a lot of places online for me in the UK. got the last one off amazon a few days ago waiting for it to arrive now, they restocked and bumped the price up by £20 and only have one left again, even though the original price was already £15 above the EVGA 970.
the way I see it, both cards perform pretty much equally for gaming on average, some are better at certain games, but I feel like games will most likely be going in the direction of using more and more vram

Okay, I'm planning to build myself a PC for christmas and have almost whole set in mind, but I can't decide which CPU to get since im on budget to medium funds.
Options are:
1) i3-6100 skylake
2) fx-6300
obviously different mobos and ram comes with those, but I would appreciate opinions on which one of these will handle gaming better
