I promised this yesterday, but it took too long getting stuff together.

Here we go!

I'm reusing my old Antec 900 case. Speaking of which...

The i7 920 I took out of this case occasionally had some problems with my poor case cut for a clean wire look. It caused it not to boot with a fan wire going to ground. Here is it before before the c-channel moulding....

What's wrong with carpets?

be certain that you wear socks and shuffle your feet a lot while putting this together, it helps reduce the possibility of static electricity build up which can damage your parts.

Now after the c-channel. I just did this before posting the thread. Took 5 minutes.

Up next is installing the cpu in the new motherboard...

These little covers are a pain.
Last night I actually bent two cpu pins, but I managed to fix them.

Push down on the lever enough to get it out of the little holder.

How do you suggest to build a pc quickly?

Next up. Place the cpu. This is an Intel lga 1151 chip. Both Intel and amd have a little symbol to match. Match the big triangle with the cpu triangle.

Doing this on carpet because you guys sounded like it was bad.

Don't you have a wooden/concrete floor? Anyway if you live in a place with a carpet floor you have easy access to some form of grounding material. Good choices are plugged in PSU or your case.

However, a few nights ago she lost her balance and fell of her swing in the dark so she started panicking and hitting the cage. By the time I went downstairs and turned on the light she lost a few flight feathers and couldn't fly properly. She almost hit the TV when I let her fly.

Here is the money shot. I like the line method and it doesn't have to be perfect. Some will say I'm using too much. Others will say the cpu isn't a rectangle and you should use a cross or a circle dab. But here we are.

In the end who cares. It isn't even a k processor that can overclock. I've done that in the past and it isn't worth it.

But nice job attempting to justify your own purchase to yourself there buddy.

>Obsolete

I think you might be mistaking my platform with Ivy and sandy or perhaps what ever it was AMD shit out a few years ago that people still use.

z97 is still alive and well.

But thanks, because of idiots like you who look at the shiny pretty graphics and want the latest and greatest, actual intelligent people who want to build computers get better prices on hardware that's just as good if not better than the supposed "New and Better" shit you people keep demanding to have.

>>51674362
Not lining up? Sounds like a personal problem mate. Ive used nzxt and cooler master cases since i started building and have never had an issue.

Question guys. Currently have an i5-4690k. I can return the cpu fit full price of $200 ( based microcenter warranty). Plan on getting an i7-4790k and 32gb ddr3 2400mhz. Plus a 500gb 850 evo m.2 ssd. All in all this whole new setup will cost me $400. With it? I actually do need the extra cpu threads. But i mean longevity wise. Is ddr4 something everyone should have or will ddr3 2400 suffice for another 4 or so years?

Im not against spending money, but don't like spending for no reason either. It is either this or a 5820k, x99 sabertooth, and 16gb of ddr4 3000 for $550 total.

Not including various warranties. Deduct $320 because I'll be getting that much in store credit from returning my existing z97 board an i5.

I don't want or need 32gb of ram. I barely use the 8gb I have no bu 2gb ddr4 modules are hard to come by and I want to 4 sticks to utilize quad channel memory.

Cooler will be either an H80i GT for $100 or a hyper 212 EVO placeholder while I decide on good air cooler from newegg.

I'm actually not sure what type of hair it was. It was on the carpet.

Getting an SSD was the best purchase I have ever made. You can instantly tell the difference. Installing Windows took less than 10 minutes and it boots up in less than 10 seconds.

Not counting hard drive light, cause funk the police. Also I needed a 5 volt pin for my optical audio out, so I used a USB 2 I won't be using.

Got it in. Basically plug and play. If by plug and play you mean it fits in the pciex16 slot, then you screw the card in and add power.

Still got to get power. Should be ready to power the system up soon.

Everything has power. Time to connect keyboard, mouse and turn on the power supply.

Then we watch for smoke!

Analyzing.

Not the power switch. I took it off and used a paper clip to start it with the pins.

Thinking graphics card. I'll take it out and try integrated graphics.
>>
dude if it powers on it's pretty much not the power switch. hook up your fucking POST speaker to the appropriate pinout on your motherboard. The motherboard will tell you what's wrong.

But that takes all the fun away!

It works with the integrated graphics.
Something with the gpu. Also my one case fan looks like it is low on power.

Did they die?

I got it working.
Still have the low power on the one fan but I'm scared to use the volt meter again.

I used the volt meter and my one fan header is reading 11 volts.

It was either that or the gpu wasn't in good enough. Does make me wonder what happens when you use a xeon chip and it has that setting. I'm tired now. Thread can do. I did my duty for king and country.

Great picture, nice look, love the small bezel.

Bad is the touch screen buttons. I don't like the hole for cables. Also it was blinking on and off on occasion, but I can't figure out the cause. May have been a bad psu with my gpu losing power. Hence the new pc.

I can't post anymore. Captcha too hard.
