The i7 920 I took out of this case occasionally had some problems with my poor case cut for a clean wire look. It caused it not to boot with a fan wire going to ground. Here is it before before the c-channel moulding....

These little covers are a pain.
Last night I actually bent two cpu pins, but I managed to fix them.
Push down on the lever enough to get it out of the little holder.

Pull the whole thing back and remove the cover. Watch those pins! If not Intel master race, then AMD has pins on the cpu.

Next up. Place the cpu. This is an Intel lga 1151 chip. Both Intel and amd have a little symbol to match. Match the big triangle with the cpu triangle.

Don't you have a wooden/concrete floor? Anyway if you live in a place with a carpet floor you have easy access to some form of grounding material. Good choices are plugged in PSU or your case.

Here is the money shot. I like the line method and it doesn't have to be perfect. Some will say I'm using too much. Others will say the cpu isn't a rectangle and you should use a cross or a circle dab. But here we are.
In the end who cares. It isn't even a k processor that can overclock. I've done that in the past and it isn't worth it.

Next step is find your cpu power pin on the motherboard. Plug it in. We do this so you get the wire routed right to put on the heat sink.

Next step is align two pin holes. Keep the heat sink off the cpu until you figure where you want it.
Seat it nice and flat. You don't want paste on one side and none on the other.

You can see the little plastic spacers and pins on the back pushed through.

Remove the M.2 screw. Also be sure your cpu fan can spin and not hit any wires. Cable management isn't important at the moment.
M.2 goes in at an angle. Didn't this at first and it makes a harsh seating sound.

I would have done OP's build with the i5-6600, 8gb ddr4, and an H170 mATX/ATX all for $350 at the moment. Extra $20 for Hyper 212 evo.

Yeah that's exactly what I thought when I paid $335 for a 4690/Z97/8gb two weeks ago. OP's build is $10 more but you get 10% gain in performance and extra PCIe 3.0 slot.

Not lining up? Sounds like a personal problem mate. Ive used nzxt and cooler master cases since i started building and have never had an issue.
Question guys. Currently have an i5-4690k. I can return the cpu fit full price of $200 ( based microcenter warranty). Plan on getting an i7-4790k and 32gb ddr3 2400mhz. Plus a 500gb 850 evo m.2 ssd. All in all this whole new setup will cost me $400. With it? I actually do need the extra cpu threads. But i mean longevity wise. Is ddr4 something everyone should have or will ddr3 2400 suffice for another 4 or so years?
Im not against spending money, but don't like spending for no reason either. It is either this or a 5820k, x99 sabertooth, and 16gb of ddr4 3000 for $550 total.

I don't want or need 32gb of ram. I barely use the 8gb I have no bu 2gb ddr4 modules are hard to come by and I want to 4 sticks to utilize quad channel memory.
Cooler will be either an H80i GT for $100 or a hyper 212 EVO placeholder while I decide on good air cooler from newegg.

Getting an SSD was the best purchase I have ever made. You can instantly tell the difference. Installing Windows took less than 10 minutes and it boots up in less than 10 seconds.
Okay break over. Going to just do bare minimum to get it to run plus one other thing.
Optical audio, USB, audio, power bar thingy, and gpu. Plus fans.
Not counting hard drive light, cause funk the police. Also I needed a 5 volt pin for my optical audio out, so I used a USB 2 I won't be using.

Got it in. Basically plug and play. If by plug and play you mean it fits in the pciex16 slot, then you screw the card in and add power.

dude if it powers on it's pretty much not the power switch. hook up your fucking POST speaker to the appropriate pinout on your motherboard. The motherboard will tell you what's wrong.

Great picture, nice look, love the small bezel.
Bad is the touch screen buttons. I don't like the hole for cables. Also it was blinking on and off on occasion, but I can't figure out the cause. May have been a bad psu with my gpu losing power. Hence the new pc.
