Why would you buy anything BUT an Intel SSD?

Is it worth saving a couple jewros and having a trolo-lo-lo YOLO controller?

Why would anyone in their right mind get a OCZ, A-Data (Silicon Motion), Patriot (Phison), Kingston (Sandforce), Crucial (Marvel, Silicon Motion), Sanddisk, Samsung or any other of those shits?

Do you even remotely care about your data? Or are you retarded?

Intel shill pls go
>>
I've had my SSD for 2 years now and it works fine, i think i'll be okay senpai.

I have a toshiba drive, kingston drive, and a samsung drive. None have died, all work perfectly.
>>
I guess the sticker looks pretty nice. That is the only difference, right?
>>

if you were in an enterprise environment where up time rules all, the intel drive will be more reliable over it's lifetime. When you calculate this over 50 or 100+ SSDs, you can get significant savings by going for the more expensive intel drives.

For home use though you'll never notice a difference.

I have an ATI/AMD Radeon GPU. Wouldn't mind having an AMD CPU (if there was a legit contender performance wise). But as far as SSDs go, I don't see any of those other companies caring about reliability more than Intel does.

Why do you think Intel are the only ones able to make a decent SSD controller?
>>
I bought a OCZ Vertex when they came out (4.2011) and it is running without any problems. (I still replaced it in my main computer in 08.2015.. just to be safe)
>>
>>51666124
yes i do, why?
>>
Intel jews you by forcing you to get brand new motherboard chipsets before they let you use their new SSD tech. No other manufacturer does this, showing that it's bullshit rather than actual necessity.

I trust intel, samsung, and marvell.
I'm lukewarm on silicon motion. I only trust mlc nand. TLC is a no no...though maybe I'll make an exception if it is 3d.

Intel is probably one of the few companies that actually does care about it's name and reputation.

Remember the mobo recall with slight chipset problems (SATA controller) for sandybridge processors? Would someone like samsung or OCZ or whoever-the-fuck do that?

Intel has the resources & expertise not to fuck things up too hard.

Never a problem using stock intel heatsinks, backplate mounted aftermarket heatsinks and push pin heatsinks adhering strictly to the guidelines set by Intel about weight and mounting pressure on their sockets.
>>
>>51665991
i've used ocz, crucial, kingston and intel ssds and they were all fine

Intel SSDs uses all kinds of controllers though, including the ones you written off.

Because I store my OS on it like you are suppased to. That you can just reinstall anyway. That aside I have 2 Samsungs in Raid0 for about 2 years now, never had an issue.

Butthurt much?

Oh shit, some (consumer class) Intel SSD actually use SandForce controllers (which have had problems in past with Intel 520).

Okay, respect for Intel goes out of the window. Thanks /g/.

This. Sounds like someone is just too poor to afford a $50 SSD and has to justify his salvaged 500gb hard drive

I use Crucial because they have power loss protection and encryption which other SSDs don't have. Stay away from Samshit at all costs.
>>
huh, microcenter has 480gb 535 series for $130. those any good?
