so for nearly a year now I have been running my computer with the windows display driver because I cannot install the driver for my card.
os= windows vista home basic
driver/card model s3 virge dx/gx pci win 95/98
error details=the selected driver does not support windows vista
can someone make an install program to force windows to use said driver?
maybe you could modify the driver to be compatible and I install it manually like I am trying. either way please help. buying new computer/card is not an option, and though vista has its problems it is an os that I own and it is my first computer my parents got me
I remember that video card... I used it in a Pentium 2 computer
Even if you found drivers they wouldn't improve anything over those Windows already has
It is a really ancient video card, you can get a better one for like $10, like a shitty ass office graphics card from 2008, you won't be able to play games on it either but watch video or what you need

yea, I just wanna get display in truecolor so it looks like it used to on nvidea, I have another computer that I watch video on so I just use this one to surf. any game It can run now is all I need anyway

You need a better card then, a driver can't fix this. The card is simply too old and shitty

I will trade you the card and an entire win98 computer to get a os appropriate card.
as I said buying a card is not an option for me, and it is because I live in a shitty little town that has no computer part store and I cant get a ride into a city that I can find it in.
98 system only missing power supply

You have internet. Fucking order one you giant autist.
Debian will pick that up out of box.

stop using vista

go to ebay
buy hd 4450 or similar card
nobody wants your 20 year old computer
Try installing the XP driver, if that doesn't work try manually installing just the .inf or whatever you need for the card.
