Everything with technology seems to emphasize making things ever more minuscule. Is there any benefit to going in the other direction at all?

fuck man
i wish using a computer was like operating a space ship
took a coordinated team of people to operate
sitting at the helm, the bridge of the enterprise, surfing the web

i don't know which one of you took this future from me, but i'm mad

More room for a larger battery.

Also, your photo is from a submarine.

heat dissipation

bigger is required to be modular, and that could mean easier to repair or maintain

otherwise smaller is better, when it comes to hardware
less power used, less heat generated, faster signals

so basically, you want nothing done?

Well if you have a big enough heatsink you wouldn't need fans.
More space would allow for larger batteries in laptops and phones, but those kind of need to be small.

Can't think of many other reasons to enlarge the size of the computer now.
