>rotate your ram every other month
For what reasons. I am actually interested lmao
>>
>>51639758
>do weekly backups

Why are people still storing shit they can't afford to lose in storage that is in their computer?

Buy flash drives/external hdd and store your shit there.
>>

>dust out your rig every month
Everything after 2010 and that costs more then 10 bucks comes with a dust filter
>reapply your thermal paste every year
If you didn't know that and learning it from this thread chances are you are going to cause more damage by attempting it
>rotate your ram every other month
What. This makes 0 sence and is indeed more harmful
>run a reputable anti virus such as malwarebytes weekly
Absolutely no need to run an antivirus WEEKLY if anytime as long as you are not retarded and don't dowbalod anything that says .gif.exe
>defrag if you have a hdd
Windows automatically does that since 7 or even vista. If you have a Linux I believe you know about defrsging already
>delete your unused files to reduce the weight
You know that this does nothing on an hdd right ? It litteraly doesn't delete anything unless you overwrite with smth. And an additional can operate perfectly as long as you have say a 100 megabytes free on it.
>do weekly backups
Everyone and their dog knows that and people with such sensitive data would not risk it.

So all of your tips are useless
>>
>>51640323
And an *SSD can operate. Fucking autocorrect
>>
>>51640323
Dust filters help, but dust really just gets everywhere and there is nothing you can do about it
>>
>>51640192
If you think that was the only joke in there....
>>
>>51639758
>>dust out your rig every month
agree
>>reapply your thermal paste every year
meh
>>rotate your ram every other month
why? These are not tires
>>run a reputable anti virus such as malwarebytes weekly
Most on-demand scanning AV will take care of this business unless you have of files being transferred via USB
>>defrag if you have a hdd
only if you need to do so, scheduled defragging is a waste of time and power
>>delete your unused files to reduce the weight
itroleyou.jpg
>>do weekly backups
agreed

laptops don't use 'paste', they use a phase-change pad. It doesn't wear out.
>>
>weekly backups

for what. You niggas dont do anything important.
Establishing a new porn collection is easy enough
>>
>>51640459
Nah, I've repaired laptops where the pads become all dry and brittle, including one where it had already all but come off.

I'm sure a quality laptop uses proper pads, but most are cheap and still wear out.

>Nah, I've repaired laptops where the pads become all dry and brittle, including one where it had already all but come off.
No, not the squishy thermal pads. Phase change pads. It's a plastic that melts into place. They're *supposed* to do that.
>>
>>51640639
Wait you mean like the shit that's under the chipset heatsinks on motherboards?
>>
>>51640676
Probably not, it's not an adhesive and not meant to stay as a pad. It's for high-performance applications like CPUs and kinda expensive.

But the point is, it looks 'dry and crumbly' if you pull it apart, but it's supposed to look like that at room temperature. It doesn't wear out. It's also higher performance stuff than just about anything you're going to replace it with. So the whole 'repaste the CPU' thing is just a meme like all the other things on the list.
>>
>>51640316
A spare HDD is cheaper than an external on idiot
>>
>>51640468
Found the normie who doesn't watch, listen, read or play anything that isn't super popular.
>>
>>51640734
Man I hate that kind of mentality. I personally know people that refuse to watch TV show or listen to a musical because its too popular. This is the definition of being a hipster. I don't mean to tell you that you can't like something unpopular without being a hipster, but rubbing it in and bragging about it is exactly what they (you) do
>>
>>51640734
Not the guy you responded to btw
>>
>>51640369
I leterraly have a pc tower with no filters no back side panel large cutout for a cpu heatsink on the from bezel all 4 pci-e covers missing and the 5ΒΌ bay with no cover just directly into my tower. Working every day no dust inside. Dusk builds up when there is no air circulation inside actually. So that is why you see those pics of all ass pcs covered in layers of dust. Modern (past 2005 or so) cases do not suffer from dust and filers and somewhat a snake oil and a gimmick
