One of my system utilities has a memory leak. It's driving me fucking crazy. I just killed it and my memory usage went down to 1.2 GiB, but the memory usage will climb back up over the next few days.

Process name is "panel-5-power-m," if anyone has any ideas. I believe it's the xfce4 power manager. I think this is the bug:

Why would that be? Why doesn't the OS just cache it? I don't know how things work in Windows-land, but in Linux-land you're supposed to just access the files normally and let the system handle prefetching and caching and so on.
