Hey /g/
I really need your help
So, I moved out to study. Found a plebian student house to rent, and have been here for 2 months.
The router is downstairs, on a room exactly below mine.
I have a wireless PCI adapter installed on my computer (TP-Link Model no. TL- WN851ND)
The signal is strong.
Still, internet keeps going down.
It happens randomly.
What is happening?
I keep connected to the internet, but I cant use it (pic related)
If I manually discconect and recconect again it starts working again, just to sooner or later (usually sooner) go down again.
Still, while this happens on the computer, I can still use the internet on my phone.
Any tips guys?

Define "internet going down"
Is it just websites not working or do you also get disconnected while playing multiplayer games or while streaming movies?

Question 2: will you show us your tits?

Internet not working and also disconnected if playing online games

Maybe, if we can work this out
>>
Could it be that sometimes that signal strength slightly lowers and it makes this happen?
But then it should happen on the phone too
>>
bump for help

pls respond

Something doesn't add up because in your OP you state that the connection is still there, but you can't connect to the internet.
Afaik this is only caused by 2 things:
1) DNS problem (DNS server unreachable): this can't be the cause because you say you get disconnected from multiplayer servers too
2) Connection problem past your router (usually the next hop past your own router, an ISP node): this can't be it either because you say you can still browse the internet on your phone.

How often does this occur?
Next time it happens, you should go to cmd and enter
ping 8.8.8.8
and also
tracert google.com

Post the results.
>>
>>51636180
It seems to happen more when I intensively use it (might be wrong and just seem like it). Otherwise its pretty randomly. Sometimes I have internet for 1 hour. Sometimes 10 minutes.

Will do if it happens soon. Will try to make it happen by downloading something.
>>
>>51635913
OP, when this happens, are you sure you're not being a moron and connecting to the internet on your phone through the data plan?

"Pretty white" means you're not white, though.

Anyway, Daniel the Brown,
Can you get your hands on another WiFi adapter (usb or whatever) or a laptop and see if the same thing happens on that device?
Are your roommates experiencing the same problems?

It's starting to look like a hardware problem tbqh fameleon.

This is a clean install.
I previously had the TP-Link Nano USB adapter.
It had some problems during 1 week. Then it worked flawlessly for around a month.
2 weeks ago it just fucked up and started this shit.
So I decided to change for a PCI adapter. Same shit

Router problem but the internet keeps working on my phone?
>>
>>51636669
Call your ISP.
The problem is 100% sure on their side; either the router or the ISP node or line to your router.

We can't do anything to help you.
My ISP actually uses the same router, works fine here.
>>
>>51636669
Que tal chamar a porra da Cabo Visão? ffs
>>
>>51636669
If you can initiate a reboot of the router try that, it's been on for 44 days. I'd suggest trying a different channel, a lower one. Even if there are others relatively nearby on the same channel it shouldn't matter too much.
>>
>>51636702
The only thing you can still try is connecting via ethernet cable and seeing if it still happens.
>>
>>51636691

If you have an android phone that's working well with it you can connect that via wifi, plug it in via USB to your pc and use it as an adaptor.

>>
>>51636824
Call your ISP or talk to your landlord.
There is nothing you or we can do about this.

Try downloading something to your phone and see if it loses connection too (make sure it's via WiFi).
>>

I have no idea what this means

>>51636846
Your android battery won't die if it's plugged into USB.
>>
Could just be a motherboard/pci adapter fucked. I had one when my computer what upstaris away from my router. I had a ROG Rampage Extreme IV with a 3930k and 32Gb of ram, 3x HD7970s and it always cut out and got slow. Try a new router or card (depending on cheaper option if you give a shit kek) if not, make sure your mobo BIOS is up to date.

>>51636861

>>51636950
That one is already ruled out.
Tried different methods and adapters.
Also, BIOS is up to date.

>2.4ghz
it's not just muh wifi which uses this particular part of the spectrum. you could be getting interference from one or more of
>cordless phones
>microwaves
>baby monitors
>other electrical equipment
looking at the other networks in your pic, channel 11 would ordinarily be the best choice but you want to rule out interference. switch your router to channel 3 and see if it improves. i personally found that getting a better router and moving to 5ghz fixed all my interference issues and my wifi is now completely stable.

OP, uninstall TP links utility, install the driver-only version that doesn't include the interface, and re-enable wireless zero configutation. This will solve your issue.
