Here it is, /g/. A 27-inch, 1440p, IPS monitor for $250. So why shouldn't I buy this?
Shit quality Asian panel

show me one that isn't desu

A friend of mine is looking to buy this monitor. I think it's has some LG panel. Would love input on it.

Probably has dead pixels and shitty warranty
wheres the goddamn display port
>>51607854
The 290 handles 1440p surprisedly well. You may need to crank down some settings in newer games.

Do you think it's a really good deal for going from 1080p or is this 1.7 times increase in pixels not worth the investment?
I don't mind 1080p at all but getting beautiful text and productivity along with better viewing parameters in my RTS games seems nice.

What is pixel perfect? And I had much more luck with Korean monitors than I did with other shitty well know manufactures. Fuck monitor quality control these days. It's shit.

There is none? Why not use hdmi
>inb4 proprietary and no bandwidth and shit
HDMI is basically displayport but crappier. Both carry audio, both support 4k (HDMI 2.0)
And even if you overclock, hdmi 1.4 or whatever is sufficient enough

Well 27in+ 1440p is a must, unless 29in ultrawide. Do you really need to upgrade your monitor? 1080p is fine. Slowly getting obsolete however.
If so,
Go ultrawide and freesync. You don't need ultrawide, but I like it. Asus mg279q if ur rich and willing to play monitor lottery, lg 29um6-p if poor.

Am I missing something or is this an amazing deal? This monitor was $800 as recently as last year.
pros.:
possibly overclockable
inexpensive for 1440p
cons :
shit warranty
can only return if your monitor has 5 dead pixels, anything less and you're stuck with it
6ms gtg response time, which can't even be confimed but is common for koreashit monitors
no anti-ghosting technology if you managel a high overclock
no gsync/adaptive sync
it's a gamble. you can spend a few more dollars and buy something from asus or benq or you can settle for some korean garbage monitor.

It still is 700 standard price.
They just have it 140 for friday/monday apparently.
>>51607945
Don't really need to upgrade but I think I should if this is a deal that won't come for another year.
>>51607854
just ordered this shit, we'll see if its not canceled tomorrow due to the thousand orders they got in the last 24h

It's refurbished.
Are LG IPS monitors considered shit? Should I be looking for another brand?
